When he was just 17 years old in 1933, Ray Lamar began working as a fryer at Jack Frost Donuts in Kansas City, Missouri; eventually working his way up to partner. A post-war degree in economics led Ray into becoming a stockbroker until 1960 when he bought a donut shop and returned to the business he always loved. That was the beginning of LaMar’s Donuts becoming a Kansas City legend.
