La Fontanella was founded in 1998 and has been a Stamford staple ever since. Owner and Maitre d', Tony Alves heads an experienced and skillful staff and kitchen ensuring that nothing but the highest quality meals are presented year after year. Alves also stocks a versatile wine cellar, choosing wines based on years of experience. Alves became his native Portugal's youngest sommelier at age 18, and worked in the restaurants of his family's hotel chain until he came to America at 31.
