La Cabaña is proud to say it has been in business since 1963. What was once the National Plumbing and heating Co. and then a small thrift shop was remodeled into a thatched roof hut or "cabaña" which marked the beginning of the restaurants history, Soon after opening, the restaurant began making hand made tortillas on the premises. In fact, we were the first Mexican restaurant on the Westside to offer hand-made tortillas with its dishes. We were also one of the first to serve authentic Mexican "platillos" and continue with this tradition. Our Carnitas for example, are prepared in the style found in Michoacan, Mexico while other dishes like our Carne Adobada, are prepared from recipes found in Jalisco Mexico.
