Kat Murphy is a working artist living in New London, CT. She resides at the Hygienic Arts Co-op and is one of its founding members. Kat is a recipient for the Artist in Residency program in Bulgaria, Summer 2006 through the Griffis and Orpheus Foundation. Kat is known for her works in encaustic and currently is exploring new media and conceptual imagery.Kat has been involved with youth art programs at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, Hygienic Art and local schools. She is also a skilled decorative artist and interior and exterior mural painter. She recently worked as one of the draftsmen on the Sol LeWitt “Wall drawing # 1196” at the newly designed New Britain Museum of Art in New Britain, CT. Other projects include the Downtown New London Mural Project in conjunction with students of the Drop-in Learning Center
