Kong’s Tae Kwon Do School has been spreading the knowledge of Tae Kwon-Do to many students for over 40 years. We were the very first martial arts school opened in the Pottstown area. The martial art of Tae Kwon-Do was founded by General Choi Hong-hi, who is the “Father of Tae Kwon-Do”. He travelled all over the world sharing the art with many numbers of students. One of General Choi’s first generation students is today’s Grand Master Young Il Kong, IX Dan. When Grand Master came to the United States, the first school he founded was ours in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Since then, Grand Master Kong Il has travelled the world and the United States founding Tae Kwon-Do schools and inspiring some of their higher ranking students to open schools of their own. Grandmaster Kong Il also assisted General Choi with the design of the patterns we now study at Kong’s of Pottstown.
