We invite you to learn more about our curriculum and then schedule a tour so that you can see for yourself how Life Essentials delivers the best experience for your child.
Curriculum
At Kiddie Academy, we are first and foremost caregivers. We believe care and learning should go hand in hand, and the two should always be balanced with a big dose of fun. Early childhood development is critical, which prepares your child for school. Our goal is to educate your child for life, which is what separates Kiddie Academy from traditional child care. That is the philosophy behind Life Essentials®—Kiddie Academy's proprietary, developmentally appropriate curriculum, supporting programs, methods, activities and techniques that help better prepare children for school and for life. Kiddie Academy's Life Essentials is based on four pillars of education:
Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum
Technology Education
Health & Fitness
Character Education
Our Infant Care Curriculum: New Beginnings
Infants have individual personalities. We help bring them to light.
Early childhood development is critically important.
At Kiddie Academy®, our experienced teachers and staff help facilitate this period of learning, and that's what separates us from traditional child care facilities.
Our New Beginnings curriculum develops and reinforces each infant's individuality within a tight-knit community.
Your child will be assigned a primary teacher to promote a deeper understanding of your child's personality, likes and developmental needs.
Life Essentials® is Kiddie Academy's proprietary developmentally appropriate curriculum and supporting programs, methods, activities and techniques help better prepare children for life.
Life Essentials gives your child a happier, healthier, more well-rounded foundation for the future. In other words, what children learn at Kiddie Academy will help to prepare them for school and for life.
At Kiddie Academy, we understand that infants are constantly learning.
Every time they hear a new sound, they want to know where the sound came from. When they look in a mirror, they want to know who is staring back at them. With our New Beginnings curriculum, infants learn these skills and many others throughout the day as they play and develop.
Kiddie Academy's New Beginnings curriculum is designed to develop and reinforce each infant's individual needs through Life Essentials.
Children participate in sensory-based learning experiences while receiving positive, nurturing guidance from highly qualified teachers.
Areas of Development
The curriculum focuses on six areas of development: Cognitive, Communication, Emotional, Fine Motor, Gross Motor and Social Skills.
Cognitive Skills
Infants are building their memories, learning to develop words and learning to recognize familiar sounds. They're exploring with their hands and mouths. In our infant room, your child will explore different textured materials, play Peek-A-Boo and complete simple wooden puzzles.
Communication Skills
By developing communication skills, infants learn how to express wants and needs to others. We understand the importance of our teachers constantly communicating with your child. Our teachers read books and poems, sing songs and teach your child how to put on finger plays.
Emotional Skills
Emotional development involves infants feeling safe in their environment and secure with the adults in their lives. We help your child build trust and attachments by watching your infant's signals and responding to them. Our teachers hug, cradle and walk your child around the classroom while talking about everything they see.
Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are developed in the small muscle groups like those in our fingers and hands. Our teachers help infants learn to grasp items and help them eat, color and complete other daily activities. We help improve pincer grasp by putting small foods in their hands, then on their tray, so they can feed themselves. They begin to wave hello and goodbye, and explore clay and other objects with their hands.
Gross Motor Skills
Gross motor development is the growth of the large muscle groups, like those in the legs and arms. Gross motor skills for infants include holding up their heads, rolling over, crawling and pulling themselves up. Kiddie Academy teachers speak encouraging words to help your child roll over. We provide your infant with plenty of tummy time, and our infants dance to different kinds of music and take walks around the academy, inside and out.
Social Skills
An infant's social skills consist of smiling, making eye contact, imitating facial expressions and wanting to be close to other people. Kiddie Academy is a place where your child will see many different, yet consistent and familiar faces. Our teachers model good manners and proper social skills to your infant. Your child will travel around the academy to meet others—teachers and children—and will play near friends in her age-appropriate classroom to develop the early bonds of friendship.
At Kiddie Academy
At Kiddie Academy, STEM is integrated throughout our Life Essentials curriculum.
An infant experiences STEM learning through natural curiosity, readiness to repeat actions that have an interesting effect, and the need to explore and make sense of the world around them.
Infants will have opportunities to make discoveries in the classroom and outdoors, use their whole bodies to explore and learn, manipulate objects to see how they work, and begin to develop vocabulary words related to STEM through books, songs, and finger plays.
Our Toddler Care Curriculum: Discovering Me
Toddlers are extremely active. We keep them actively learning.
At Kiddie Academy®, we strongly believe in the formation of trusting bonds between toddlers and their teachers.
Because of the tight-knit community we offer, our teachers will have a deeper understanding of your toddler's personality. Our Discovering Me curriculum is designed to develop and reinforce each toddler's individual needs, so children learn at their own pace.
At Kiddie Academy, we understand that toddlers are very active.
They are on the go and their natural curiosity prompts them to constantly explore. Our toddlers participate in sensory- based learning experiences while receiving positive, nurturing guidance from highly qualified teachers.
Our expert teachers guide toddlers while letting them lead the way and make their own choices.
With Life Essentials, what your toddler learns throughout the day reinforces what she is being taught at home. We acknowledge teachable moments as your toddler plays, helping your child learn all day long.
Areas of Development
Our Discovering Me curriculum focuses on six areas of development: Cognitive, Communication, Emotional, Fine Motor, Gross Motor and Social Skills.
Cognitive Skills
Toddlers are learning new vocabulary, perfecting how they move through their environment and making connections with others. The Discovering Me curriculum focuses on establishing these connections through songs, finger plays, books and games. We give toddlers new experiences to build their imagination as we encourage them to name colors, objects and people.
Communication Skills
Toddlers begin to use words to express their needs and to identify familiar people and objects. Kiddie Academy teachers work to improve your child's vocabulary. When your child points to something, the teacher will name the item and ask your child to repeat it. Our teachers model good manners by saying "please" and "thank you, " and by welcoming guests into the room. They encourage your child to do the same. We take advantage of these teachable moments so your child doesn't miss a second of fun and learning.
Emotional Skills
Emotional development involves toddlers feeling safe in their environment. They will establish a strong bond with their teachers and experience a wide variety of emotions. Our teachers talk to your child about his or her feelings and what other people may be feeling.
Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are developed in the small muscle groups like those in our fingers and hands. At Kiddie Academy, toddlers are encouraged to do things by themselves like washing their hands and using a fork and spoon to feed themselves. Toddlers have many opportunities to practice their skills throughout the day. Our teachers encourage them to work at their own speed so they feel successful in the skills they are developing.
Gross Motor Skills
Gross motor development is the growth of the large muscle groups, like those in the legs and arms. Toddlers love to climb, so we provide them with safe climbing structures on our age-appropriate outdoor playground. Our older toddlers work on their throwing and catching skills, and enjoy making their way through obstacle courses that are set up in the classroom.
Social Skills
Toddlers engage in longer periods of play, but still periodically check to make sure you are close by. They are not always ready to share toys and are very sensitive. At Kiddie Academy we developed social skills activities to help your child learn to share and respect others. Your child will learn to take turns stacking blocks, assisting teachers and other children with clean up and playing follow the leader.
At Kiddie Academy
At Kiddie Academy, STEM is integrated throughout our Life Essentials curriculum.
A toddler experiences STEM learning through exploration in the classroom and outdoors, by building a curiosity about the natural world and by learning about how things work.
Toddlers will have opportunities to start comparing objects by size, practice beginning counting skills, explore building and constructing materials, and use their senses to observe and predict as they are experiencing the world around them.
Our Early Preschool Curriculum: Exploring My World
Children need to explore. We give them that opportunity.

Why Accreditation is Important
Kiddie Academy is focused on preparing children for school and for life, and holds each of its locations to high standards of care and education.
Each independently owned and operated franchise location is supported and encouraged to secure accreditation from one or more nationally recognized organizations.
Becoming a nationally accredited daycare is a goal worth working toward and local and/or national accreditation is achieved by each child care location.
Our Life Essentials® philosophy and programs
which encompass the whole range of physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills that children need to thrive in a school setting, are aligned with the National Association for the Education of Young Children's position statement on School Readiness. Additionally, our curriculum meets or exceeds the learning standards set forth by each state.
