Swedish Massage

Therapists focus most often on client relaxation using this technique, relying mostly on long, smooth, gliding strokes combined with gentle yet firm kneading techniques. Clients typically receive a full-body massage that lasts 60 - 90 minutes. Swedish massage improves circulation and relieves muscle tension, leaving the body with a sense of overall well being.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage consists of slower strokes and deeper pressure. The therapist targets deeper muscle groups after first warming the tissue. Deep tissue massage is usually incorporated along with Swedish massage. Deep tissue massage releases patterns of tension and muscle soreness throughout the body. It releases adherent muscle conditions and helps to break up scar tissue and actually helps to repair damaged muscle tissue. It can speed recovery and promote maximum improvement when traditional treatments are no longer producing results. Deep tissue massage releases toxins from the tissues and gets blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released form the tissues, it is very important to drink plenty of water after the massage to help flush out these toxins.

Cupping (detox) Massage

Cupping is an ancient practice that has been around for more than 5000 years. It utilizes "suction cups" in a variety of shapes and sizes, which different from other massage, involves "negative pressure" working into the tissues without force or pain. We have found that cupping works more effectively and efficiently than deep tissue massage and the positive effects last longer. The body receives the work much easier and relaxes faster. Cupping massage releases rigid soft tissue; drains excess fluids and toxins through the lymph system; loosens adhesions, connective tissue and stubborn knots in soft tissue; brings blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles; among many other benefits. Significant reduction, and even reversal, in symptoms and conditions can be seen with the help of cupping.

Swedish/Thai Massage

Swedish/Thai Massage is a unique style of massage that blends the relaxing strokes of the Swedish massage with the stretching techniques of traditional Thai massage. Swedish massage consists of long, smooth, gliding strokes combined with gentle, yet firm kneading techniques. It promotes deep relaxation, which increases circulation, relieves tension, and leaves the body with a sense of overall well-being. Thai massage uses passive stretching and gentle pressure along the body's energy lines to increase flexibility and range of motion, relieve muscle and joint tension and to balance the body's energy systems. Thai massage is both deeply relaxing and energizing. This may be the ultimate combination therapy for relaxation and flexibility. Once complete, you will probably feel as though it was one of the most thorough massages you have ever received. For a full body Swedish/Thai massage, 90 minutes is suggested.

Prenatal Massage

This therapeutic massage focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through dramatic changes. Benefits of prenatal massage include increased flow of nutrients to the placenta, aids in postural realignment and relieves joint discomfort and lower back pain, relief from headaches, swelling and edema, leg pain and cramps as well as many other common pregnancy related complaints without the use of medication. We feature a prenatal table specially designed to allow the mom to lie comfortably on her stomach.

Reflexology

Reflex points in the feet or hands correspond to various organs and structures of the body. Massaging these points in a gentle circular motion or by direct pressure will break up crystal-like deposits around reflex points. This will promote optimal organ function, unblock nerve impulses, and help to achieve homeostasis (internal energy balance) in the body.

Hot Stone Massage

Paraffin Dip

During a paraffin dip the hands or feet are immersed into a bath of melted paraffin. The heat from the paraffin increases the blood supply to the area being treated. Moisture is drawn from the underlying layers of the skin, the moisture surfaces and mixes with the applied moisturizer. This fluid is unable to evaporate because of the paraffin glove. It is then infused back into the skin resulting in the most successful way to rejuvenate, hydrate and nourish the skin. It also helps to relieve muscle aches and arthritis pain.

Deep Tissue MassageProcedure

First the skin is sanitized, and then moisturizing lotion is applied and lightly massaged into the area. The hand or foot is immersed gradually, 3 or 4 times into the warm paraffin wax creating an extra thick paraffin glove. A mitt or bootie is then slipped over a plastic liner creating a seal to improve heat retention. The treatment will last about 10 - 15 minutes and then the paraffin sheath will be peeled off revealing incredibly soft and moist skin.
