Joyce & Family Restaurant was started because of Mrs. Joyce's renowned cooking in the community. She had started taking different people food and one of her friends said she needed to start a restaurant. Mrs. Joyce Started out in 1997 with a little take out place on Academy St. in Fuquay Varina. In 2004 she moved to North Main Street and started doing a Buffet.
Joyce & Family Restaurant is noted for their Home made from scratch style cooking that only comes from the love of cooking and the commitment to doing things right. They use only fresh vegetables that if possible she gets from local farmers. She then hand washes them multiple times before slow cooking with her special touch that makes them the best you ever tasted. Her fried chicken is probably the thing she is most noted for. She uses a secret recipe that she credits her Husband Lewis. It is so juicy and delicious that noted food critic, Greg Cox, raved about it in his News and observer food Column.
