Spinning Classes
Your Spinning® Journey starts with your very first pedal stroke. Your training journey will require your strength, your determination, an open mind and a case of good old fashioned humility. The Spinning® program can assist you in striving for your goals through safe, efficient, smart training that is both exciting and challenging. With heart rate training and the instructor's ability to challenge your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds, the Spinning program divides training into 5 course format categories called Energy ZonesTM: 1. Recovery, 2. Endurance, 3. Strength, 4. Interval and 5. Race Day. Spinning® instructors use these formats along with motivating music and mood lighting to develop rides for your ultimate cycling journey.
Spin
A 45-50 minute indoor cycling ride using varied terrain, music, and motivational coaching. You will be in and out in less than 60 minutes.
Begin To Spin
An introductory Spinning® class designed to introduce new students to Spinning® terminology, movements and proper bike setup. New riders are not mandated to this class and are welcome into any of our Spinning® classes at any time. However, in BEGIN TO SPIN® you will receive personal attention to make sure you are completely comfortable and confident about the bike and its functions, the pedal stroke, the mood of the room, what terminology sounds like in action and, of course, how you FEEL on the bike. Look for this class on our schedule 1-2 times per month.
Tabata Spin (Hiit)
This can be incorporated in our Body Conditioning Classes or Spin® Classes. Tabata training lasts 4 minutes and includes 8 intervals of 20 seconds, followed by 10 seconds of rest. During those 20 seconds, you will be going all out. Make sure you use a weight or resistance where you can successfully go all out for all 8 intervals. We will make sure the exercises aren't too hard and aren't too easy. The exercises should be hard enough so it makes you sweat and breathe heavily during an interval, yet easy enough so you can last the whole Tabata session. Tabata training will improve both your aerobic and anaerobic system. Because you are performing these exercises at a very high intensity, your body will have to work much harder to keep up. This will cause your heart to pump faster and your metabolism to riseboth are important if you are planning on losing fat. Your metabolism will stay elevated not only during the workout, but after the workout as well. This means that your body will be burning fat even when you aren't doing anything.
Spin / Flex
20 minutes of traditional Spin alternated with weight lifting off the bike before returning to the bike for a full body workout.
Happy Hour Free Spin
A great way to unwind after work.

Functional Fitness
Wanna burn fat? Then this is the class for you. Here's what to expect. Functional training is a classification of exercises which involve training the body for the activities performed in your daily life. To be effective, a functional exercise program should include a number of different elements, which can be adapted to an individual's needs or goals. At Journey here are the elements that will be included and used in your functional training classes Components of the Journey Functional Training program:
Based on functional tasks directed toward everyday life activities.
Individualized
A training program should be tailored to each individual, focusing on meaningful tasks. It should also be customized for training load.
Integrated
It should include a variety of exercises that work on flexibility, core, balance, strength and power, focusing on multiple movement planes.
Progressive
Progressive training steadily increases the difficulty of the task.
Periodized
mainly by training with distributed practice and varying the tasks. Repeated frequently.
Performed in context-specific environments
Feedback should be incorporated following performance.
Trx training suspension system
Born in the Navy SEALS, suspension training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user's body weight to complete 100s of exercises.
Kettlebells
Kettlebell exercises build strength and endurance, particularly in the lower back, legs, and shoulders, and increase grip strength. They offer improved mobility, range of motion and increased strength. The basic movements, such as the swing, snatch, and the clean and jerk, engage the entire body at once in a way that mimics real world activities. Kettlebell exercises work several muscles simultaneously and may be repeated continuously for several minutes or with short breaks. This combination makes the exercise partially aerobic and more similar to HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training, rather than to traditional weight lifting.
Other training elements include
medicine, Dynamax and stability balls; resistance bands; jump ropes; dumbbells; plyometric power boxes; BOSU; tractor tires; agility cones, ladders and hurdles; and sport grip training ropes
