Welcome to Jose's - welcome to the family! My family and I have owned Jose's since 2003. When you visit us, you may find my mother in the kitchen making tamales, my father overseeing the inventory and my brothers, cousins, and nephews hosting, waiting tables or bar-tending. We are a big family of six brothers and 1 sister, from a small onion farming town in the mountains of southern Mexico called Tonatico. People often ask me "Where did you learn how to cook or run a restaurant?" When I came to the U.S., I worked as a cook in family restaurants owned by Greeks, Albanians, Turks, and Mexicans in Wisconsin and Illinois. I eventually moved to Boston to attend the University of Massachusetts where I completed my undergraduate degree.
After working for few years in the high tech industry, however, I discovered that my true calling was right back where I had started, in the restaurant business. I grew up with fresh, local food prepared in the time honored Mexican traditions that my family has passed down through the generations, and I am proud to have the opportunity to share a taste of southern Mexico with my new extended family - our Jose's customers.
