Working mostly with coastal subjects, John Tunney creates simple but compelling compositions that range from impressionistic land and seascapes to still lifes, abstracts and “pop” treatments of lobsters and other local icons. He prints his own work using archival art papers and pigment inks, creating images that often have a look and feel similar to paintings and mono prints. The results have met with both popular and critical success, winning many awards. A frequent exhibitor in New England art shows, John’s work hangs on the walls of homes, businesses and institutions all over North America and Europe. He is a juried artist-member of the Cape Cod Art Association, where he teaches classes & workshops in photography and Photoshop. He also is a juried member of the Artisan’s Guild of Cape Cod and the Professional Photographers of America.
