You'll learn a highly popular Korean self-defense technique descended from some of the most ancient martial arts in Asia. While taekwondo emphasizes powerful kicks, you'll learn a host of complementary techniques as well, including punches and throws. Internalize these techniques via drills, and then put them to work in sparring, building up your ability to react and implement what you've learned in a live fight. In addition to learning to defend yourself, taekwondo is also a popular combat sport, opening the way to competition. Plus, you'll gain the benefits of a low impact aerobic workout that will lead to increased core strength, flexibility, and stamina. Stamina always comes in handy. Or maybe footy, in this case.
