Community Hot Tub
Our community tub is a traditional Japanese wooden tub, made of Teak wood and equipped with multiple jets
The community tub provides individuals the benefits of hydrotherapy in a shared hot tub that is monitored by an Inman Oasis staff member to ensure their well being and safety. This is perfect option for those who wish to supplement their massage therapy treatment with a soak in one of our tubs.
The community tub comfortably fits 1 to 7 people and is meant for walk-in soaks (first come, first serve)
However, if you have a massage booked before or after your soak, then we are happy to reserve a space for you in the tub.
The community tub is a co-ed space
We ask that everyone please respect the wellness environment provided by keeping your conversations at low voice level and allowing for others who are in the tub or in the massage room across the hall, a chance to relax in a quiet environment. We also ask that you don't treat the public environment like it's your own private tub so that everyone feel as comfortable as possible. Bathing suits are required in the community tub. A separate changing area, with shower, is provided. Towels, robes, EO Shower Products and drinking water are provided. There is only one shower in the room, so we ask that you be mindful of your time in the shower if others are waiting. Please refrain from bringing any outside food or drink in the community room.
Please note: The community tub can get busy at times
We can't guarantee immediate availability. Occasionally you may have to wait for a few minutes until a spot opens up. We typically do not put more than 7 people in the tub at a time and we do not allow groups larger than 3 people to go in at once. We do not hold spots in the tub for people who are not yet here, therefore if you are hoping to soak at the same time with friends, we suggest you book a private tub in advance.
Occasionally, during times of maintenance and/or cleaning, the large wooden community tub will not be available. During those times, we generally make our fiberglass tub available as a "community tub" until the other tub is back up and available. Due to our cleaning schedule, times when the community tub is going to be the fiberglass tub are on Monday mornings and Friday mornings. Other times that this may occur are generally announced on the website and/or Facebook.

Types of Massage
Often referred to as Swedish massage, a relaxation massage is just how it sounds… relaxing. Broad strokes and kneading techniques are mostly used to help increase your circulation, and release tension.
Deep Tissue Massage
Our bodies have layers of muscles. This type of massage therapy focuses on working on muscles that lay under the superficial muscle layers. Because these layers are deeper, the pressure is generally more firm than in a relaxation massage (though there are ways to target deeper tissue that don't always feel like a lot of pressure). If you choose a Deep Tissue massage, keep in mind that not all areas of the body have to be worked deeply. Usually, there are one or two target areas. And as always, if the pressure ever feels too deep to you, please tell your therapist and they will decrease the pressure.
Neuromuscular therapy is simply a handful of techniques that helps address injuries or areas of extreme tension or concern. These techniques are often used to break up adhesions, relieve trigger points, increase range of motion, and help the body break any patterns that are contributing to areas of discomfort.
Orthopedic massage is a system of skills and techniques used to provide treatment for painful soft-tissue injuries or conditions. There is a strong focus on assessment and rehabilitation in Orthopedic massage. An massage therapist using this modality may integrate a range of techniques to treat these conditions, ideally adapting his or her style for each client, as every person's body is slightly different.
Often referred to as Pregnancy massage. Inman Oasis offers prenatal massage in side-lying position or on a special pregnancy massage table with cutouts for the breasts and belly. While some women rave about being able to lie on their belly, others don't fit as well. We can also work with you having you lay on your side supported by pillows. Our goal is to try to make you the most comfortable during your massage. Prenatal massage is a wonderful way to alleviate some of the unique strain and pain put on your body during this amazing time of change and growth.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point therapy is a neuromuscular technique designed to target specific hyperirritable tension spots that tend to trigger pain in the affected muscle area and "refer" pain in other areas of the body that share the same nerve connection. Sustained finger pressure to the tender area is effective yet uncomfortable technique that targets the trigger point and challenges it to release. Trigger Points are often the result of holding patterns and can take some time getting rid of.
Sports massage is a special type of massage therapy which is designed for athletes. It often integrates a variety of techniques from various schools of massage, and many athletes use sports massage as a regular tool to help keep their bodies in balance with the muscles used for their particular sport. Some therapists specialize in sports massage, while others supplement other massage work with sports massage.
Myofascial Release Massage
Is a form of therapy used to treat bodily structures that aren't functioning normally and have accompanying pain and restriction of motion. This hands-on technique involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion thereby relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation, increasing venous and lymph drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflux of muscles and overlying fascia.
Cranio-Sacral therapy is a type of bodywork which is focused on the fluids which surround the brain and spinal cord. Using gentle manipulation, a therapist attempts to bring these areas into alignment, in order to release pressure and nerve pain. We have a couple of massage therapists that can incorporate cranio-sacral massage but, so you know, we don't do full sessions of cranio-sacral massage.
Chair massage (or seated massage) is performed in a massage chair, with the client clothed and facing forward with the head supported by the chair. The neck and back are the areas of focus during a chair massage. These sessions are done in 15 minute time periods only.
Hot Stone Massage
Offered only in 75 minute increments. Hot stone massage promotes deep relaxation by placing smooth, water-heated stones on key points of your body during the massage. Currently only offered by Carie and Dan available Wednesdays, Fridays, and some Saturdays and Sundays.
Please note that each Massage Therapist at Inman Oasis approaches prenatal massage differently based on their training and expertis
We do have some massage therapists who only do side-lying massage and do not use the massage table cut-outs. And we have some massage therapists who work with the cut-outs until 34 weeks of pregnancy and then do side lying only. If you prefer to try the pregnancy table option, please tell us at the time of your booking so we can put you with a therapist who works with the pregnancy table. And if the table isn't the right fit for your body, then we can switch you to a side-lying position.
Core Movement Integration
Core Movement Integration (CMI) is an alternative body therapy developed by Dr. Josef DellaGrotte, a Boston area neuromuscular therapist and Feldenkrais trainer/practitioner. Understanding the three words of its name is the first step in understanding what CMI is and what learning it can do for you. CMI is different than massage and though some massage techniques such as myofascial release, deep tissue and neuro-muscular therapy may be incorporated in a session, there will also be an overview discussion, movement assessment, movement exercises as well as education about pathways and movement sequences in a session. Everyone can benefit from CMI. It has been notably helpful to people with range of conditions including, joint pain, stiffness and decreased Range of Motion, chronic pain issues and muscle tension. The pathways are simple to learn and based in our bodies natural way of moving. If you are interested in booking an initial session of CMI with Phil- Book a 75 minute session (same prices as 75 minute massage session) with Phil and tell the front desk you are interested in a session of Core Movement Integration or CMI. The first session should be, at least 75 minutes, to allow for assessment, explanation and facilitation of the work. After that, the client and Phil can determine a personalized plan with which to move forward. (Offered only by Phil, at this time).
Your body's core is your physical and energetic center, located in your lower abdomen. In Core Movement Integration (CMI) you learn how movement and energy flow through this point to balance your body enabling you to remain upright with little effort. This dynamic core stabilization is the first principle of CMI.
In CMI there are 6 Pathways of sequential movement to learn, each one spanning the body from feet to head. The Pathways map out "routes" of movement that allow your joints and muscles to move easily and freely while encouraging your body to lengthen. You can use these Pathways for all activities including sitting, walking, strengthening exercises and sports activities. The 6 Movement Pathways form the second principle of CMI.
In order to be efficient, movement must flow from one part of the body to its neighboring part without encountering blocks along the way. So when the brain and body can connect movement in this way, stress and effort are reduced. This integrated way of functioning is the third principle of CMI.
