2019 Endless Crush® Rosé - OGV Estate
$38.00
Wine Specs. Vintage: 2019, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Vineyard Designation: Olivet Grange Vineyard, Harvest Date: August 2019, Sugar: dry, Acid: 0.7, pH: 3.3, Bottling Date: December 2019, Residual Sugar: 0.04, Alcohol %: 12, Wine Enthusiast: 94. This 2019 vintage of Endless Crush® is made entirely from our "Sonoma County Sustainable" -certified Olivet Grange estate fruit; this wine is a beautiful, pale, delicate pink and is crisp and refreshing. The 2019 Endless Crush® has lovely weight on the palate. With higher acid and lower alcohol (12%) this aromatic rose is beautifully balanced. A crowd pleaser. Ripe watermelon, strawberries, and guava with lovely minerality and racy acidity to delight the palate. "The first time I had an elegant dry rosé wine was on a simple but romantic picnic with my husband Simon in Provence 35 years ago. Local cheese, bread, fruit, the fabulous, dramatic scenery and that Provençal wine with its delicate salmon pink color, crisp acidity and floral aromas forever linked in my mind rosé wines with romance. In 2004, I harvested Olivet Grange Pinot Noir on September 1st, which was our 20th wedding anniversary. To celebrate and mark the occasion I made a special rosé, which I called" Endless Crush" . I am very excited to share the three single vineyard versions this year." – Kathleen Inman, Winemaker and Owner Some rosés are made as a byproduct of red wine by bleeding off (saigner) some of the juice early in the production process to create a higher ratio of skin to juice, which will concentrate the resultant red wine. Endless Crush® is not made in this manner. The intention from the start was to create a rosé separate from our Pinot Noir. Rosés made intentionally, rather than simply by drawing off the freerun juice, tend to have greater complexity and structure because the entire cluster is destemmed and then the grapes are pressed within a few hours of destemming. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: This wine is pale pink, with intense aromas of wild strawberry, watermelon, honeysuckle, guava, and ruby grapefruit zest. On the palate, there is strawberry, mineral, blood orange, and watermelon rind. Winemaker Notes: The fruit was harvested by hand at night, and was destemmed and left to for a few hours - the traditional measure of time is the time it takes to go to the taqueria, have two tacos and return to the winery! The fruit was then moved to a Wilmes press and pressed on a delicate white wine cycle. The juice was moved to tank for cold settling, racked and then inoculated for primary fermentation using a Provençal yeast strain. It aged in stainless steel on the lees until it was prepared for bottling. After cross-flow filtration, the wine was bottled under Stelvin closure. Production: 1,215 Cases
2017 RRV Pinot Noir
$68.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2017, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Acid: 5.5, pH: 3.8, Aging: 12 months sur lies in French Oak, Fermentation: Native Yeast, Bottling Date: 7 September 2018, Residual Sugar: 0, Alcohol %: 13.8. These last few vintages we have been showing wine lovers the differences between our esteemed single vineyard Pinot Noirs, but occasionally, the sum is greater than the individual parts. With our 2017 vintage, winemaker Kathleen Inman has once again gone against the grain by making this special blend of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from three of the most highly regarded vineyards in the area, OGV, Vine Hill, and Sexton Road Ranch, to create this earthy, fruity, and balanced Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Beginning with our estate property, Olivet Grange Vineyard (OGV) located in the Santa Rosa Plain, this fruit lends its signiture minerality and backbone of acidity to the blend. We find delicate raspberry from the Vine Hill property, located just two miles from our estate in the Laguna Ridge neighborhood, boasting Goldridge Soil, with excellent drainage and suitcase clones from Burgundy. Lastly, soft tannin and bold fruit shine through the mid palate from our higher elevation vineyard on the Sonoma Coast, Sexton Road Ranch. By blending these distinct vineyards, after small lot fermentation with native yeasts, we found complexity and elegence in this solid representation of the Russian River. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: Tasting Notes Color: Pale Garnet Aroma: Rich cherry, dried roses, raspberries, baking spices Flavor: Dark cherry, and ripe raspberry, pomegranate, baking spices, sassafras, cherry pit, and a hint of licorice. Production: The wine was fermented on our estate in small one ton ferment batches. Following natural wild fermentation, the wine was basket pressed and settled overnight before being moved to French oak barrels (primarily Sirugue). The wines were kept on their fine lees and stirred regularly until they were settled for bottling under screwcap. 678 cases produced
2016 OGV Estate Pinot Noir
$73.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2018, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Harvest Date: 8/23- 9/16, Acid: 5.1, pH: 3.6, Bottling Date: 11/20/17, Alcohol %: 13.8, Wine Enthusiast: 92. Olivet Grange Vineyard (OGV) is the Inman Family's sensitively farmed estate vineyard - using only certified organic fertilizers and pesticides. This 10.45 acre vineyard is located at the junction of Olivet and Piner Roads amidst some of Sonoma County's and the Russian River Valley's most respected vineyards. Olivet Grange is located in the Russian River neighborhood known as the Santa Rosa Plain. Like our other Pinot Noirs, this wine is made without any additions of water, acid, enzymes, or tannins, and is fermented with the native yeast on the grapes and the naturally available malolactic bacteria
2016 Sexton Road Ranch Pinot Noir
$68.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2016, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Sonoma Coast, Harvest Date: 9/5/2016, Acid: 5.7, pH: 3.5, Bottling Date: 11/20/17, Alcohol %: 13.8, Wine Enthusiast: 92. Located in the Sebastopol Hills at around 900 feet in elevation, this Sonoma Coast vineyard selection of Pommard, 777, and 23 clones has yielded a rich, seductive Pinot Noir with dark fruits and exotic spices. The vineyard is approximately 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean. It is planted on steep hillsides of Goldridge soil. Farmed by highly regarded grower Jim Pratt, Inman Family's winemaker Kathleen Inman wanted to make wine from this site for many years. In 2013, she secured the first fruit from this lovely vineyard perched above Freestone. This area of Sonoma County can be labeled either Russian River Valley or Sonoma Coast. The luscious, dark, concentrated fruit and racy acidity combines with the generous tannins to create an age-worthy structure. Pratt's Sexton Road Ranch is not far from the Klopp's Thorn Ridge Ranch, which Inman sourced from between 2006-2012. It is adjacent to Littorai's Haven and Balletto's Sexton Hill ranches
2016 Pratt Vine Hill Pinot Noir
$73.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2018, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Harvest Date: 9/7/16, Acid: 4.6, pH: 3.8, Bottling Date: 11/20/17, Alcohol %: 14.8, Wine Enthusiast: 94. This young vineyard in the Laguna Ridge of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley has soils that remind one of a moonscape. It has some of the whitest soil in the region; it is very sandy Goldridge soil. The Dijon clone 667, along with the Mount Eden, Swan, and Martini clones (also known as" heritage" or" suitcase" clones, so named because sometimes the plant material was imported from France in vintners' suitcases) thrive in this soil. The result is a very perfumed and elegant Pinot Noir. The vineyard is farmed by Jim Pratt. His attention to detail in the farming is reflected in the exceptional quality of the fruit. Inman Family receives 100% of the Pinot Noir from this vineyard. The property is at the corner of Vine Hill Road and Vine Hill School Road, near a number of very acclaimed vineyards
2018 RRV Pinot Gris
$38.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2018, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Alcohol %: 12. Our OGV Estate Pinot Gris continues the tradition of stone fruits paired with racy brightness that tingles the taste buds on the very long finish. Pinot Gris produces a white wine with a varied hue, extending from a pale green to straw to a rose color. The wine style ranges from crisp, light, and dry, such as those produced in northern Italy (where Pinot Gris is called Pinot Grigio), to richly, textured, aromatic wines from France's Alsace region (where Pinot Gris is called Tokay d' Alsace). At Inman Family Wines, we craft a stylish and distinctly individualistic Pinot Gris that represents the unique growing conditions of the Russian River Valley. Our cool region and well-drained soils ripen the grapes slowly, allowing fully mature flavors to develop while preserving a crisp elegance. Its delicate aromas, attractive flavors, opulent texture, and balanced acidity make Pinot Gris an ideal food wine. The wine pairs nicely with vegetable dishes, appetizers, simply prepared fish, such as salmon and halibut, and shellfish, particularly crab and scallops. Pinot Gris' good acidity and slightly spicy characteristics complement the herbs and spices found in Thai and Indian cuisine
2016 Russian River Valley Chardonnay
$48.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2016, Varietal: Chardonnay, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Vineyard Designation: Irwin Lane, Harvest Date: September 3, 2015, Acid: 0.64, pH: 3.51, Aging: 40% New French Oak, 60% Stainless Steel, Fermentation: Native Yeast/Native ML, Bottling Date: August 1, 2017, Residual Sugar: 0.5, Alcohol %: 12.5. Start with beautiful fruit from Jim Pratt's Irwin Lane Vineyard. Press the whole clusters gently, ferment using only native yeasts, age in a blend of new French oak and small stainless steel barrels, and you have a recipe for a delicious Chardonnay. Bright natural acidity and modest alcohol make this a fine wine for aging, but an equally wonderful choice for enjoying now! Inman Family Wines is best known for Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, the varietals grown at the Inman's Olivet Grange Estate vineyard. In 2008, winemaker Kathleen Inman decided to try her hand at the other classic Burgundian varietal, Chardonnay. The decision came as a result of Kathleen's preference for the leaner more elegant Chardonnays of Chablis and Meursault, and a personal challenge from her husband to see if she could create a Russian River Valley wine with bright acidity, little or no tropical fruit flavors, and a creamy texture from malolactic fermentation without the cloying butteriness so often found in 100% MLF Chardonnays. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: This wine is pale straw in color, with aromas of Asian pear, nutmeg, honeysuckle, jasmine, and toasted almonds. Juicy, crisp apples dominate the palate. Pear and lemon peel accompany delicate secondary notes of toasted nuts, kefir lime and minerals. It has a rich texture with a crisp finish and plenty of tart acidity. Winemaker Notes: A combination of 40% new air-dried Vosges Oak barrels from Cadus and 60% small stainless steel barrels were used as fermentation vessels. The wine was left to ferment using native yeast, and completed malolactic fermentation in all barrels using only native bacteria. Each barrel was stirred weekly until malolactic was complete and monthly thereafter. The wine remained on its gross lees throughout the aging process and was crossflow filtered before bottling under Stelvin closure
2018 Endless Crush® Rosé Sexton Road Ranch
$38.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2018, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Sonoma Coast, Vineyard Designation: Pratt Sexton Road Ranch, Harvest Date: August 2018, Acid: 0.78, pH: 3.2, Bottling Date: January 22, 2019, Residual Sugar: 0.08, Alcohol %: 13.5, Wine Enthusiast: 94. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: The nose on this Endless Crush® is a heady blend of mace, nutmeg and berries. On the palate it reminds us of a bowl of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blackberries with an infusion of exotic spice. Intoxicating and with excellent acidity and a structure that we think will hold up to grilling and BBQ. Winemaker Notes: The fruit was harvested by hand at night, and was destemmed, crushed and sent direct to a Diemme press and pressed on a delicate white wine cycle. The juice was moved to tank for cold settling, racked and then inoculated for primary fermentation using a Provençal yeast strain. It aged in small stainless steel barrels at ambient temperatures on the lees, with regular battonage, until it was prepared for bottling. After cross-flow filtration, the wine was bottled under Stelvin closure. Production: 224 Cases
2018 Endless Crush® Rosé Pratt Vine Hill
$38.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2018, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Vineyard Designation: Pratt Vine Hill Vineyard, Harvest Date: August 2018, Acid: 0.8, pH: 3.2, Bottling Date: January 22, 2019, Residual Sugar: 0.04, Alcohol %: 13.9, Wine Enthusiast: 92. In 2018 I realized my vision of creating three single vineyard, intentional rosés from the three beautiful Pinot Noir vineyards I have worked with since 2013. The Pratt Vine Hill is a delicate, mineral driven rosé that makes one crave a salad Niçoise in the sunshine! I am very excited to share the three single vineyard versions this year." – Kathleen Inman, Winemaker and Owner Some rosés are made as a by-product of red wine by bleeding off (saigner) some of the juice early in the production process to create a higher ratio of skin to juice, which will concentrate the resultant red wine. This 2018 vintage of Endless Crush® Pratt Vine Hill is made entirely from Jim Pratt's Sonoma County Certified Sustainable, vineyard at the corenr of Vine Hill and Vine Hill School Roads in the Laguna Ridge Neighborhood of the Russian River Valley; like that first rosé I enjoyed in France, this wine is a beautiful, pale, delicate pink and is crisp and refreshing. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: The lightest in color of the three Endless Crush® rosés, it is not shy on aroma or flavor. On the nose fresh nectarine and honeysuckle and on the palate, stone fruits, citrus and mineral. Bright acidity, great length, very dry and very clean. A glass of this makes me crave the sun and a Salad Niçoise on the patio! Winemaker Notes: The fruit was harvested by hand at night, and was destemmed and sent direct to a Diemme press and pressed on a delicate white wine cycle. The juice was moved to tank for cold settling, racked and then inoculated for primary fermentation using a Provencal yeast strain. It aged in small stainless steel barrels at ambient temperatures on the lees, with regular battonage, until it was prepared for bottling. After cross-flow filtration, the wine was bottled under Stelvin closure. Production: 271 Cases
2015 Extra Brut Luxe Cuvée
$78.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2015, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Alcohol %: 12. This beautiful 2015 Methode Champenoise sparkling wine is a marriage of Chardonnay from Jim Pratt's Irwin Lane Vineyard and Inman Family's Olivet Grange Vineyard (OGV). This is the first sparkling that Inman has produced which is not 100% estate Pinot Noir. This classic blend of 28% Chardonnay and 72% Pinot Noir manages to be bright and crisp with lots of fresh apple, pear, and alpine strawberries while at the same time being rich and complex as a result of nearly four years aging on the yeast. The fermentation in the bottle finished with 0.081% residual sugar and no additional sugar was added as a dosage. The generous mousse is created by the very fine bead. This serious, vintage-dated sparkler is the perfect wine to celebrate with or to pair with caviar and blinis or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs
2016 Brut Rosé Sparkling
$68.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2016, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Vineyard Designation: OGV Estate, Harvest Date: August 17, 2016, Acid: 0.9, pH: 2.9, Aging: 98% Stainless Steel, 2% French Oak, Bottling Date: April 25, 2017, Residual Sugar: 0.5, Alcohol %12. Always a favorite in our tasting room (and a favorite of Kathleen' s), this small lot of méthode champenoise brut rosé sparkling wine is 100% Pinot Noir from our OGV Estate vineyard; it has a luscious mousse and a very fine bead. The colour is the palest of pink; the nose has all of the hallmarks of Olivet Grange fruit, including hints of fresh citrus, strawberry, tart cherry, and brioche. A bright core of acid, along with a rich mouthfeel and a long finish showing great minerality, leave a clean, crisp palate impression. We see this not only as an apéritif, but as a serious food wine for a main course or a dessert. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: This sparkling brut rosé is pale salmon pink in color with good mousse and very fine bead. On the nose, there is Mandarin orange, tangerine, dried and fresh strawberry, tart cherry and brioche. On the palate, experience strawberry, citrus zest, watermelon, and a hint of raspberry and mineral. Winemaker Notes: We hand-picked into half-ton bins, getting the grapes to the winery before 9 a.m. Grapes were whole-cluster pressed with free run juice going to the cuvée. The cuvée and taille (the press fraction) were fermented separately. Only a small fraction of the taille was used in the assemblage. The wine settled for 36 hours and was kept at 52° F to 54° F. We racked to a fermenter and began fermentation using Quartz yeast. Fermentation was carried out at 51° F until 2 Brix when we shut off the cooling to finish the fermentation. We settled the wine for 8 months on the lees before assemblage. Kathleen looks for aromatics, structure, and overall texture and balance. This is a single-vineyard sparkling wine made from one pick and one press, so options for blending were limited. The wine was tinted with 2% barrel-aged ML complete OGV Pinot Noir from the prior vintage. This tinting helps reduce bitterness or phenolics that could come from fermenting with color in the primary, and adds texture along with Pinot Noir character. Once blended, the wine cold stabilized. It was crossflow filtered and bottled with additional yeast and sugar. The wine received 11 months of aging on the lees. A 4 day mechanical riddling cycle was followed by disgorging. Dosage was 0.5g/L sugar dissolved in wine, not water, with no added SO2. Production: 226 Cases
2014 Whole Buncha Bubbles
$68.00
Wine Specs - Vintage: 2014, Varietal: Pinot Noir, Appellation: Russian River Valley, Vineyard Designation: OGV Estate, Bottling Date: November 2, 2017, Alcohol %: 12. Single vineyard, single vintage sparkling wines are unusual in California. Like our acclaimed 2012 Blanc de Noir, the 2014 Whole Buncha Bubbles is 100% OGV Estate Pinot Noir from our organically farmed vineyard. This small lot of elegant, food friendly méthode champenoise is 100% Pinot Noir. After nearly three years on the yeast, this sparkling wine is incredibly aromatic, complex, and has a very fine bead (LOTS of tiny bubbles...in fact you could say - a "Whole Buncha" tiny bubbles!). Only 166 cases of Whole Buncha Bubbles were created. Wine Profile - Tasting Notes: The wine has a very fine bead, almost no color--just the palest hay-colored tint--and wonderful aromas of apple raspberry crumble on the nose. On the palate, green apple moves towards lemon meringue pie and then finishes with seashells and a chalky minerality and red fruit: a clean, crisp palate impression. The acidity is very bright and creates a pleasing structure for this linear, focused wine. Winemaker Notes: Whole clusters were put in a bladder press and the free run juice was captured for the cuvée. Two press fractions, or tailles, were then taken, and all three portions were fermented separately, and then small portions of the press fractions were added to the cuveé. After three years of bottle aging on yeast, 166 cases were disgorged November 2, 2017. 0.025 g/l of sugar was added in the dosage. Production: 166 Cases
