Decorated with classic red and white checkered tablecloths, candle light, and raffia-bound wine bottles, Il Capuccino is the traditional Italian restaurant. Jack's philosophy is to keep the food old-world style and keep prices modest. Signature dishes include tortelli d'erbetta, pumpkin tortelli, homemade ravioli and ossobuco, all prepared with Jack's hometown recipies by Chef James Renner. The East Hampton Star says Il Capuccino has the "best Marinara sauce in town" and the LI Monthly Magazine says the garlic rolls are the "best in Long Island." All the desserts are home made and the wine list has many Italian choices including their own house wine by the glass ~ just like in Italy. Il Capuccino is frequented by artists and writers - Jack is an artist, himself. In addition to being a chef and a successful restaurateur, Jack Tagliasacchi, owner of Il Capuccino, in Sag Harbor, is an accomplished artist in his own right. His beautiful paintings, scenes of Italy, are on display throughout his restaurant. Jack vacations in Italy, and when he sees a sceen that piques his interest, he photographs it, then comes back home to the States and paints it. He has also had shows in local galleries.
