2 Tank Dive - Wreck/Reef (Non-Certified Divers)
Duration: 4 hours; $129; They say that space is the final frontier, but clearly "they" haven't been to the ocean. There are all KINDS of things left to explore under the water's surface, and Honolulu Scuba Company wants to spark your sense of adventure. Immerse yourself in wonder as you dive into the depths, exploring old shipwrecks and brilliant coral reefs. You'll start off checking out the USS YO257, about a mile off the shore (give a wave to Diamond Head, she'll be that ginormous crater in the background). This old WWII Navy Ship, resting upright at about 95ft, has become one of the island's most popular dive sites -- it even has holes cut throughout her hull, giving divers easy access to the interior cabins. Up next, and only 50 yards away, is The San Pedro, an old Korean fishing vessel which is a favorite haunt of divers, Hawaiian Sea Turtles and White-tip Sharks alike. Keep an eye out for mini submarines, too! After that it's Rainbow Reef, the (you guessed it!) rainbow-colored reef, home to hundreds of tropical fish, as well as several large sea turtles. Next stop is the two large lava formations rising from the ocean floor, the Ewa Pinnacles -- then, end the day with Moe's Reef, where you can get a rare and intimate glimpse of turtles in their natural environment. Now, if that itinerary doesn't impress you, perhaps you should look into becoming an astronaut.
