After over 40 years on the waterfront it’s hard to deny the Hofbrau is something of a tradition in Morro Bay.
Many tourists tell us that there are two places they must visit while in town: the beach and the Hofbrau. And locals love to reminisce about the first time eating with us, whether it was four days or 40 years ago.
The food is part of what makes the Hofbrau such a tradition. The legendary French Dip sandwiches start with our slow-cooked tender, juicy roast beef that’s hand carved while you watch. Piled high on a soft roll, it’s then steamed and served piping hot with a side of flavorful au jus. The clam chowder is made in-house, and the beer battered fish and chips are hard to beat. Add flame-grilled burgers, a fresh salad bar and dozens of other menu items, and there is something for everyone.
