Individual appointments encompass a very comprehensive assessment in which a medical, nutritional, and lifestyle history are obtained. Lab values are interpreted, current medicines and supplements reviewed, body composition measured, as well as discussion related to health-related goals. Based on these parameters a specialized nutrition and lifestyle plan is developed. At subsequent appointments you will be guided in acquiring the skills needed to change old habits and ways of thinking. Your dietitian will provide further education, advice, and new strategies will be discussed to help you get through plateaus or circumstances that make it difficult for you to stay on course with your plan. We will support you in reaching your goals.
Phone/Email/Skype Counseling
We strive to attain the same level of professionalism and attention to detail in our phone/email/Skype sessions as we would in our office appointments. This is ideal for the busy person who is trying to balance health goals, work and family or the person who lives outside of the Los Angeles area.
Body Composition Testing
A healthy body composition (proper muscle-to-fat ratio) has been associated with longevity and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and other chronic health conditions. Approximately 65% of Americans are overweight or obese, which can increase the risk of metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, hormonal imbalances, and cardiovascular disease. A comprehensive program should include body composition testing (fat & lean tissue ratios)-because thin doesn"t mean healthy if you"re losing muscle and retaining unhealthy fat. Loss of muscle results in loss of ability to burn calories, which makes it much more difficult to maintain fat loss over time. An imbalance in body composition can also lead to serious health problems.

FirstLine Therapy Program
FirstLine Therapy (FLT) is a 12-week program designed to address the underlying cause of most chronic illnesses. FLT is based on extensive research demonstrating that many of the chronic diseases associated with aging are largely caused by lifestyle choices.
Seasonal Detoxification/Wellness Cleanse
Would you like more energy? to think clearer? to sleep better? to feel more healthy? Helping the body to rid itself of toxins and restoring the balance of the gastrointestinal tract are often complementary approaches to inflammation management. Every day we are exposed to multiple toxins that exceed our body's ability to detoxify, causing a buildup. Inflammation is a leading cause of a variety of disorders and diseases. A detoxification program may be a simple first approach for those suffering from symptoms and conditions associated with metabolic toxicity or inflammation. The GI system serves multiple roles in the body, including digestive, immune, and barrier functions—all of which dramatically influence health. Anything that negatively impacts the health of the GI tract, such as a high fat/low fiber diet, food intolerance, certain medications, chronic stress, or nutritional deficiencies, can lead to a disruption in GI function—potentially impacting many aspects of health, such as joint health, bowel regularity, immune function, weight, energy level, mood, respiratory function, skin/complexion, digestion, and mental acuity. A comprehensive GI restoration program can support overall health.

Wellness Testing
Food Intolerance and Sensitivity Testing
Are the foods you are eating, making you sick? This test measures personalized nutrition at the cellular level. The core technology is a blood test that measures the body's cellular response to challenges from a wide array of substances including various foods, additives, colorings, and chemicals. Results are presented in an easy to understand, color-coded format. They highlight each patient's incompatible foods and the level of each reaction (severe, moderate or mild). The results also clearly identify the foods, which are non-reactive or "safe" foods. We recommend the panel which tests: 200 foods, 10 food additives, and 10 food colorings.
Nutrient/Antioxidant Deficiency Testing
Are you absorbing the vitamins and minerals your body needs? Do the prescriptions you take deplete your nutritional status? Vitamin, mineral and antioxidant deficiencies have been shown to suppress the function of the immune system, which can contribute to degenerative processes such as arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. You may be deficient in some vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and/or other essential micronutrients and not even know it. Analysis can reveal a person's functional nutrient status over a much longer time period than conventional serum testing.
Lipoprotein Particle Profile
Do cholesterol numbers really assess cardiovascular risk? Approximately 50 percent of people suffering from heart attacks have shown "normal" cholesterol numbers (NHLBI – The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute). Now there is an advanced cholesterol testing technology, which accurately measures both the density and number of lipoprotein particles. Measuring the lipoprotein subgroups is the only way to evaluate new risk factors, which is crucial for an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk – according to the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP).
Telomere Testing
How fast are you aging? Telomeres are sections of DNA at the end of each chromosome that serve as a cap to your genetic material. Every time a cell replicates, its telomere will become shorter. Shorter telomeres imply a shorter life span for a cell. Age adjusted telomere length is the best method to date to assess biological age using structural analysis of chromosomal change in the telomere. Shorter telomeres have been associated with metabolic abnormalities, obesity and several degenerative diseases including cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular disease. Therapies directed at slowing the loss of telomere length may slow aging and age-related diseases.
