Many other studies have shown that chiropractic care can be a cost-effective remedy that brings healing in less time than other treatments.
Webster Technique
The Webster Technique is a specific adjustment for pregnant mothers. Working to correct sacral subluxations, this technique balances pelvic muscles and ligaments in the woman's pelvis, removes constraint and allows the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.
Pediatric Chiropractic
During the first 15 years of a child's life, their body is forming crucial nerve and brain development and the central nervous system that powers the human body resides in the spine. Chiropractic care for children offers them a solid foundation for whole body wellness through every stage of their life. Since the spinal cord is the main pathway for electrical information connecting the brain and peripheral nervous system, it is crucial that during their initial years of physical and mental development, that the condition of their spine is monitored and enhanced by qualified professionals, so their mind and body can grow strong and balanced.

Purpose of Chiropractic
The purpose of chiropractic is to provide a first health care contact for wellness and the optimization of health.
Chiropractic Defined
Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent
Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is used for treating many ailments that previously were relegated to psychological treatment avenues.
Your pain is not an illusion! Healing Hands Wellness Center is very happy to be able to offer our clients true relief for disorders that many other medical practitioners have not addressed, or treat with methods that do not always bring true relief to their patients.
By utilizing specific settings of microcurrent therapy, it is now possible to treat many pain conditions in a natural and non-invasive way.
FSM can be used to treat fibromyalgia, shingles, joint pain, back pain and can help lessen the debilitating effects of herpes outbreaks. Additionally, FSM is used in speeding the recovery time after surgery and in cases of traumatic injuries to the body caused by life activities ranging from sports to car accidents.
Therapeutic Cold Laser
The second, stricter study was completed January 2002. The results proved outstanding pain reduction, and increased muscle strength and range of motion. The overwhelming results were presented to the FDA in a 510(k) submission that led to the first low-level laser given market clearance by the FDA, awarded January 17, 2002. Not only did the Erchonia Corporation studies garner the first low-level laser indication for use, the Erchonia laser device initiated the need for the FDA to create a new regulatory category, NHN Biostimulation lasers.
A laser is a focused beam of light that emits photon energy.
Low level lasers do not have a thermal effect and are used to stimulate, rather than destroy, tissue. These types of lasers have been in use for more than 25 years with no recorded side effects. Lasers emit visible coherent light that is applied to the affected area. Bundles of light energy pass through the dermal layers, and are received within the cell membrane by specific energy photo acceptors. Within the injured musculoskeletal tissue, low-level laser light causes increased microcirculation and enhanced tissue regeneration. The overall effects are decreased pain and inflammation, and increased range of motion.Lasers are used by themselves or in conjunction with other therapies to help aid in healing injuries.
Erchonia Corporation began their commitment to conducting clinical research in December 1999
with Neck and Shoulder studies, as a means to prove viability to the FDA. At the time, the FDA considered low-level lasers "experimental" as no company had presented ethical clinical data to prove them safe and effective. Erchonia petitioned the FDA regarding a study, choosing neck and shoulder pain because it was one of the most common neuromuscular conditions of which few devices had been proven successful in treating.
The study began December 1999 and was completed August 2000.
The data collected on pain control was so impressive we were certain the FDA would grant market clearance without hesitation. Erchonia Corporation presented the results to the FDA in a 510(k) submission and for months the FDA told us the study was good. However, in January 2001, owing to the FDA's years of doubt regarding low-level lasers, they requested a second study: one that was more limiting. In our first study we mixed patients suffering from both chronic and acute neck and shoulder pain. The FDA wanted us to target either acute OR chronic patients. You can imagine the frustration we at Erchonia Corporation felt, however, being committed to our course we persevered.
Sensing the FDA's hesitation based on their long held opinion, that low-level lasers were "experimental" Erchonia Corporation took a proactive approach.
Steven Shanks, along with Erchonia Corporation's regulatory agent hosted a conference call with the FDA to discuss the strict inclusion criteria they wanted for the next study. We addressed all their concerns and ensured test criteria were included in the clinical trial matrix to address each of them. Erchonia Corporation again chose chronic neck and shoulder pain since we felt that if we proved this indication, it would demonstrate to the FDA, what we already knew, the incredible healing power of the Erchonia laser.
The inclusion criteria
consisted of:
Pain on a visual analog scale
Pain greater than 50 on a scale of 1 to 100
Patient had to have had the pain longer than 30 days
No pharmaceutical intervention for 30 days prior to and during the study
No over the counter medication for 48 hours prior to the study
Range of Motion measured using duel inclinometers, pre and post
Motor Strength testing (Hoppenfeld) of C-5 to T-1
Massage Therapy
The AromaTouch Technique (ATT)
Essential oils are used to reduce and eliminate the impact of systemic constants on your overall health. Applying them with the AromaTouch Technique has been shown to help enhance systemic benefits and increase feelings of overall health and well-being. Environmental factors have a negative impact on overall health and well-being, disturbing homeostasis the balance our bodies need to function optimally. Such challenges, even when they do not immediately result in disease, cause our bodies to function below optimal levels. At Healing Hands Wellness Center, we only use doTerra essential oils for our massages. We invite you to learn more about doTerra products.
Aromatherapy Massage
Due to their natural molecular composition, essential oils are easily absorbed by the skin and can be safely applied topically. Application of essential oils can have immediate, localized benefit to the target area of application. They have restorative and calming properties and can be used effff ectively with massage and beauty therapy. Your massage therapist can add aromatherapy to any massage. At Healing Hands, we use doTerra products. Some of our favorites are Lavender, Breathe, Serenity, On Guard, AromaTouch, Citrus Bliss, Past Tense, Balance, Deep Blue and Elevation. Swedish Massage
Your massage therapist will use massage oils to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes called effleurage. Other classic Swedish massage moves include kneading, friction, stretching and (sometimes) tapping. Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits. Feel free to state your preference for pressure during Swedish massage. It can range from light to firm. Swedish massage usually includes some deeper work on areas of specific muscle tension.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the strokes used are the same as in classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu massage uses accupressure techniques which are applied with hands, thumbs, elbows and knees. The acupressure technique has its roots from the acupuncture therapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The oriental medicine philosophy says that the main cause of diseases is in the unbalanced chi in the body. Shiatsu massage is used to reach the harmony of chi.
Passive Stretching
Passive stretching is also referred to as relaxed stretching, and as static-passive stretching. A passive stretch is one where you assume a position and hold it with some other part of your body, or with the assistance of your massage therapist. Slow, relaxed stretching is useful in relieving spasms in muscles that are healing after an injury.
Pilates
Pilates is the exercise of choice for dancers, gymnasts, and a host of famous Hollywood celebrities, and now it finds itself firmly entrenched in the mainstream. Pilates' incredible popularity can be traced to the fact that it provides its faithful practitioners with benefits that simply can't be achieved with traditional aerobics/strength training exercises.
Increases the Strength of Stabilizer Muscles
One of the most significant benefits of the pilates program is its ability to increase the strength of stabilizer muscles that may not commonly be worked out in a standard exercise program. Also, since pilates stresses the use of graceful and fluid movements, it can be a great way to get a better sense of the kinesthetics of your body. The sense of body that you can achieve through pilates is quite significant, and many find that they are better able to balance themselves regardless of the position that they are in.
A Mind-Body Workout That Strengthens Your Whole Body
Another benefit of pilates is that it engages the mind and enhances body awareness. Like yoga, tai chi, and Asian martial arts, pilates is not just a workout for your body. Joseph H. Pilates studied yoga, martial arts, and other ancient mind-body activities and included a strong philosophical foundation into the practice of pilates. The smooth, precise and flowing movements of pilates are designed to make you more mindful of your body. Breath movement is also emphasized to put you in touch with how breath moves through your body. Pilates has been demonstrated to reduce stress, anxiety, and helps lift depression.
Pilates Strengthens Your Core like No Other Exercise
Another one of the benefits of pilates is that the increased amount of strength that one can achieve in the muscles in and around the area of the abdominal muscles and the back. Proper breathing control is also stressed in pilates, adding to the numerous benefits one can attain through regular use.
Prevents Future Injuries
Pilates strengthens your body and helps prevent future injuries. It helps to condition the whole body, not just certain muscles. This helps balance the muscle and strength of the body. Since no set of muscles is ever over or under trained, there is less risk of injury. The body becomes more fluid and supple, protecting against injury.
Helps You Become Efficient With Your Body
Pilates teaches you how to become efficient with your body. Very few exercises can help your body become more efficient in its movement. Being efficient means that your body moves in a way that is smoother, safer, and less prone to injury.
Benefits of Pilates for Older Adults
The benefits of pilates have been particularly noted in older adults. Older adults are more likely to suffer from symptoms of arthritis, including stiff and painful joints. Pilates practice has also been lauded for its ability to help prevent injury. Even adults undergoing serious rehabilitation therapy can use pilates to increase their range of motion and overall muscle strength.
Orthotics
25% of the bones in the body are in your feet. Orthotics come in a variety of styles to fit all types of lifestyles.
Orthotics Ease Full Body Joint Pain
Your feet are a complex system of 52 bones, 66 joints, 214 ligaments, 38 muscles and tendons. Is it any wonder that 75% of North Americans will experience foot health problems of varying degrees, at some point in their lives?
What do MY FEET have to do with it?
The health of your feet has a direct impact on the rest of your body. Like the foundation of a house, your feet support the weight of everything above them. When a small problem develops in your feet, even subtle changes in the way you walk will cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics. These changes can throw off the balance of your entire body, and put stress on joints higher up, leading to more serious problems in other places you may not realize are being affected. Your feet have an important job; with every step you make throughout the day, you are making an impact on your whole body. Because of gravity's pull, walking can produce more pressure than the sum of your body weight. Running produces pressure three or four times your body weight, when combined with the pull of gravity. Studies by the American Podiatric Medical Association have found that the average person will walk 8,000 to 10,000 steps per day and 115,000 miles in a lifetime. Each person has ultimately taken enough single steps in their lifetime to circle the globe four times!

Detoxification
The accumulation of all toxins in our bodies are the cause of most illness that we endure today. We are living in the most polluted environment in the earth's known history. We are continually inhaling and assimilating residues from petrochemicals, plastics and pesticides that occupy cell receptor sites and block hormone utilization. Our bodies are not able to release these toxins by themselves. All of the above statistics are directly related to the increased exposure to petrochemicals, toxins, heavy metals and other chemicals in the environment. Electro pollution may cause us to feel more stressed, fatigued and "out of balance." While no process or modality can guarantee the prevention of these conditions, it is logical to assume that an ongoing detoxification program the act of minimizing toxic accumulations in the body - will reduce the incidence of chronic degenerative disease and improve overall quality of life. Virtually all alternative healing approaches make liberal use of detoxification protocols. Detoxifying the body has been a familiar modality to all ancient healing traditions, including Ayurveda, Chinese and Native American, for thousands of years. Consider the following statistics:
1,600% increase in birth defects since 1980
250% increase in breast cancer since 1980
59% decrease in male sperm count since 1940
500% increase in cancer mortality since 1900
400% increase in heart disease since 1900
Detoxification with EB Cellular Cleanse
In order to maintain a productive life, detoxification is a necessity.
Cellular Cleanse Therapy uses the world's most advanced ION therapy system available to date, facilitating the body's natural processes through exposure to positive and negative ions. The result is the mobilization of waste products along with a natural stimulation of organs responsible for the drainage and elimination of substances harmful to our bodies. The systems are direct current units only to ensure no unwanted power transients or static sounds are passed to the body.
