Cupping
Cupping therapy dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. A modern version of cupping uses a rubber pump to create the vacuum inside the silicone or glass cup pulling tissue up. The practitioner generally uses oil or lotion and may move the cup over areas of congestion or let it sit 5-15 minutes. Cupping has been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues. This negative pressure improves circulation, releases contracted fascia (check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FtSP-tkSug for more on fascia), pulls out impurities, improves skin tone and activates the lymphatic system. For more info and pictures here's a helpful website on cupping http://www.yongkangclinic.com/cupping-faq/
Swedish Massage
This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax or energize you
Deep Tissue Massage
This massage technique uses slower, more forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries
Cranio-Sacral Therapy
Relieves back pain (includes upper, middle and lower back), neck pain, headaches and migraines, whiplash, and sciatica. This technique also corrects numbness, trauma from childbirth (Infant of Mother), head injury trauma, central nervous system disorders, and motor-coordination problems. This session is done with clothes on
Russian Sports Massage
Integrates a variety of Swedish Massage like techniques in a sequence. This type of massage is wonderful for Athletes and noncompetitive people that are over trained and tired from life. This type of massage can be very therapeutic and used to work on specific conditions and also very relaxing for those that need some time out to just relax
Traditional Thai Massage
Utilizes stretching, range of motion & compression to release tight muscles and tension. This modality is traditionally done over 3 hours but has been cut down to accommodate a busy lifestyle. This modality is done on the floor and only requires the client to wear flexible clothing. Get ready to relax in a way you never have before
Sports Massage
This is similar to Swedish massage but is geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries. Deep strokes are used to prepare an individual for intense exercise or to relieve them from the after effects. This massage stretches and tones muscle tissue, flushes lactic acid, softens scar tissue and increases flexibility
Trigger Point Therapy
This massage focuses on trigger points, or sensitive areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse. The therapist will locate and apply pressure to the area for several seconds or minutes. This interupts nerve impulses resetting muscle fibers to a normal state
Prenatal
Swedish massage is recommended for women in their second and third trimesters. Massage promotes hormone regulation, reduces edema, reduces muscle tension and headache, reduces stress and anxiety, increases circulation, and promotes sleep
Treatment Massage
This massage addresses specific acute or chronic focus areas. It may include Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Cross-Fiber Friction, Trigger Point Therapy or Hot and Cold Treatment
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot stones are positioned on certain areas of the body to relax muscles tissue. Your therapist then takes smaller hot stones in the palm of his/her hand and massages the muscle tissue. The heat from the stones allows your therapist to easily penetrate the deeper muscle tissues
Hot and Cold Treatment
This therapy includes the use of moist hot and/or cold packs to a specific area of the body. It is used to reduce inflammation, increase flexibility, reduce/increase circulation, decrease pain and muscle spasms. We provide this service free with any 90 or 120 minute massage
Aromatherapy
This therapy stimulates the Limbic System through smell or absorption through the skin. Through absorption, natural active chemicals are absorbed through the pores and carried through the bloodstream and circulate through your body systems. Through inhalation or smell, the Olfactory nerves (in the nose) send signals to the brain releasing endorphins, neurotransmitters and other "feel good" chemicals. Some essential oils such as doTERRA CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) essential oils, can be used internally as well. CPTG oils can be used for many medicinal purposes internally, topically, or aromatically
