Hawthorne Hills Park and Golf Course is a result of outstanding foresight from Ozaukee County officials. In the early 1960's county supervisors decided to purchase two dairy farms for use as a Park. The park was named Hawthorne Hills County Park and consists of a golf course, Herb Peters Youth Camp, and Pioneer village. The golf course opened for 9 holes of play in 1964 with the Youth Camp and Pioneer village being completed at approximately the same time. A third dairy farm was purchased shortly thereafter and a second 9 holes was completed in 1968. Hawthorne Hills golf course is a Golf Digest 4 Star rated course and after you have played it you will understand why. It offers a variety of challenges; Hills, gently knolls level terrain, trees, water, and sand to keep you thinking about your next shot. To compliment the challenges the course is always kept in pristine condition with outstanding greens ensuring that all levels of golfers will have a challenging yet enjoyable round of golf.
