This weekly two hour class is for hula students with at least 1 year of hula experience. It builds upon the foundation laid in beginner classes and goes deeper into the hula studying all aspects that make up the Hula: plants, chants, mythology and history. Both the classical Kahiko is taught as well as the modern Auana.
Hula I - Beginning Hula

Learn basic hula in our beginner classes. Each class is progressive to the individual, so drop in at any of the scheduled classes and build on your own skills from the previous week. While each class is different, we will focus primarily on footwork and hip motions, and then begin to integrate hands with feet and hip movements in a simple hula.
Hula II - Auana

The class will learn Auana (modern) hula. Wonderful toning of the body and strengthening of core muscles.
Introduction to Tahitian

Students will learn basic fundamentals of Ori Tahiti (Tahitian dance) in this class. You'll practice age appropriate and fun routines! Students will also learn about Tahitian culture and history. No experience necessary.
Hula II - Beginning Kahiko

The ancient or classical dances of Hawaii that is accompanied by chanting is called Hula Kahiko. These classes are more vigorous and also emphasize the cultural aspect of Hawaii.
