About Us
The rugged terrain of China was shaped by great rivers. The Yangtze River, which falls over 16,000 feet from its source in the high mountains of Tibet, cuts through Szechuan Province as it flows toward the East China Sea at Shanghai. The middle portion of the river winds through spectacular gorges. The land forms and rivers here in Columbia Gorge remind us of those regions of China.
The agriculture and foods of each province are as different as their diverse histories. The recipes we serve are based on the traditions of Hunan and Szechuan. The daily diet in China is very simple. Many selections we prepare in our restaurant are often served at special occasions.
When you order a meal from China Gorge, it IS a special occasion, and we hope you are prepared for a feast! Traditional recipes handed down from our grandparents and original creations by our own KokDjen Su make our offerings deliciously unique.
We add no MSG to our meals.
