For almost 20 years, Giuseppe's has been known throughout the central coast -- and beyond -- for great wine and Italian food. Giuseppe's Pismo Beach was founded in 1988 by Giuseppe Difronzo as a senior project for graduation from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Giuseppe's dedication to this ristorante, its authenticity and your enjoyment is only rivaled by his dedication to the region of Italy his family comes from. Our Italian regional specialties are indicative to the Pugliese region in Italy, particularly Bari, a seaport on the Adriatic Sea from which most of our recipes originate. We hope you will enjoy and appreciate our great loyalty to the distinctive dishes, all of which we prepare with genuine and natural ingredients and methods.
Our bread is baked from scratch every day in a wood-burning oven imported from Italy. Each loaf is made by hand, allowed to rise four times and slow - cooked to achieve the truly rustic appearance and taste you would find in a Baresi seaside village. Wood-firing also gives our pizzas, which are made with fresh and specialty ingredients, a delicious gourmet flavor. Our pastas, with their full nutty flavor and al dente qualities, are either made here on the premises or are imported from Italy. We use only the finest ingredients including virgin olive oil on our tables and in our sauces, local produce from farmer's markets and fresh fish delivered to our back door from local waters. We feature imported Pecorino Romano, Grana Parmigiano, imported porcini mushrooms, and the best meats, olives and fine wines available, all in an effort to bring the classic taste of the Italian countryside to your dining table. All of this takes time but to us it is an art and a labor of love. We are truly committed to bringing you "cucina genuina"
