Our 200HR teacher training program is designed to accommodate both the dedicated practitioner & simply curious student to delve deeper into the practice of yoga at their own pace. The full program is designed to be completed in 4 months (or over a 4-5 week summer immersion) for anyone looking for an intensive experience; however with the introduction of our module format, those who are excited to learn more, but due to work & personal commitments have time restrictions in their schedule, are able to complete the program over an extended time frame that honors their already busy lifestyle. Emerge Signature Massage
This integrative session is catered to meet your specific needs. Various bodywork + energy modalities are combined to create an experience of complete relaxation & ultimate release. Techniques include (but are not limited to): Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular (Trigger Point) Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Acupressure, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Polarity Therapy & Reiki.
Young Living Raindrop Technique
This session incorporates traditional massage techniques combined with a routine of therapeutic grade essential oils dropped directly on the spine. Aside from their aromatic qualities, these oils contain powerful antiviral, anti-microbial & antispasmodic properties that will not only facilitate release but simultaneously detox the body, boost stamina, elevate mood, promote structural realignment (scoliosis), help manage stress, and promote overall health. Great for anyone on the verge of a cold, or simply looking to journey into a deep state of bliss.
Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR)
For many, the simple wear and tear of life may lead to chronic restrictions & accidents may result in conditions requiring specific therapeutic care. Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) targets the cause of discomfort by accessing the body's connective tissues, improving structural alignment, enhancing flexibility, and increasing range of motion. Sessions will include both deep stretching & sustained holds in a dynamic hands-on approach that will provide lasting results. Pre + Postnatal sessions share many of the goals of regular massage: to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation, increase mobility, and just make you feel good. Specifically targeting areas of extra "intensity", like the low back, this treatment is great for an expectant or new mother feel some relief in the midst of their changing bodies. Special props are available for pregnant women to lay on their backs, sides, and bellies safely, with complete comfort & support.
Thai Yoga Massage
Performed fully clothed on a floor mat, thai massage includes a sophisticated sequence of deep rhythmic acupressure to muscles and energy lines during assisted stretches and yoga poses. This integrated approach stimulates the body's natural healing ability by unblocking the flow of energy providing a complete release of the body, mind & soul.
Integrative Energy Work & Mind*Body Balancing
While the physical body is often the 1st place we notice in moments of imbalance, true optimal health can only be experienced when the whole being is addressed in a complete & comprehensive fashion. Human nature urges us to treat "symptoms," looking for a quick fix to our aches, pains & other discomforts. However, addressing the mind & subtle energy is often the most lasting approach to facilitate freedom in our bodies, creating an experience of balance and ease. Partitioner will fuse various energetic modalities (polarity, reiki, etc.) to facilitate an sense of mind*body integration & healing for the client.
Injuries, when not treated immediately, will often lead to chronic pain. During the healing process, the body naturally compensates for areas of weakness or dysfunction. Over time, these holding patterns may create even more discomfort than the initial injury. To prevent this from happening (or undo chronic holding patterns to restore optimal vitality), it is imperative to take a proactive and consistent treatment approach. By increasing session frequency, the body does not have an opportunity to go back to patterns of discomfort. Eventually, it begins adjust to a new state of optimal alignment that can be maintained with a combination of less frequent treatment & a self care regimen. Session Add Ons - Ashiatsu
Based on traditional Chinese medicine, Ashiatsu, meaning 'foot pressure' involves a therapist rhythmically stroking pressure points on the body using their feet. The therapist will walk on your back using overhead bars for balance and support, varying pressure to your comfort. Great for added pressure + deep release.

Have you tried all kinds of traditional or alternative therapies and not found relief from pain, chronic disease, and/or emotional distress? Are you unable to enjoy your normal activities because of distracting or debilitating discomfort? Are you tired of relying on pharmaceuticals for temporary relief?... The missing piece is myofascial release!
What Should I Wear To a Session?
If you are receiving a Myofascial Release session, you will find that your body will want to move. And as you feel more and more comfortable allowing your body to move freely on the table (and off!), you will find that sheets get in the way. Because this is an active therapy, men are encouraged to bring a pair of loose fitting gym shorts; women can bring a pair of shorts and a loose shirt/tank top, comfortable bra, or a two piece bikini. This suggested attire will protect your modesty as a client, while allowing your whole body the freedom of full range of motion.
How Often Should I Receive Treatment?
This is unique to the individual. It depends on your condition, fitness level, proprioceptive awareness, comfort and trust level with your therapist, dedication to wellness goals, ability to devote necessary time to a self-care regimen, etc. The variables are endless, which is why it's so hard to provide a timeline. Generally, you can never receive too much MFR, as each treatment is different from the last, and more treatment will only have a cumulative effect toward your optimum health. If you have a specific health concern that is not in an acute stage, once a week or once every two weeks is advised. If you are fairly healthy, have minor concerns, or wish to maintain goals you have already achieved, once a month is often sufficient for most clients. However, for more acute or complex issues, clients are advised to increase frequency of visits, possibly to multiple times a day or week, as needed. (For more severe scenarios, please inquire about Intensive Treatment Packages and Multi-Therapist Sessions.)
I Still Feel Discomfort After My Session, What Happened?
Occasionally, following a bodywork session, your body may go through what's referred to as a "healing crisis," in which your symptoms persist or even get temporarily worse. Typically this adjustment period lasts 24-72 hours, but may extend several days to a week. You may even find you get "stirred up" emotionally, or have unusual sensations arise. Due to the gentle nature of MFR and its ability to target key areas of dysfunction, increased discomfort or new areas of pain tend to represent a positive outcome of the treatment. In fact, it indicates that the therapist targeted the correct areas, and in these cases, more frequent sessions are advised to continue the momentum of the healing process that was ignited. As always, it is strongly advised that you communicate any concerns you may have to your therapist at all times. Especially if you are new to receiving Myofascial Release, you may encounter periods of wonder or confusion as your body adjusts to the treatment. It is totally normal, and you might find it a bit exciting to see the changes that can and do occur!
What is Myofascial Release?
The John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release Approach® (MFR) is gentle
respectful, and effective for a wide array of concerns, including but not limited to: musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, injury rehabilitation, chronic pain syndromes, and stress management.
MFR is a safe hands-on therapy that administers sustained pressure into soft tissue (fascial) restrictions to affect a release.
Along with compression, stretching, and facilitated movement, pressures may range from very light energetic holds to deep tissue manipulation. By eliminating pain, increasing range of motion, and re-balancing the entire body, MFR offers lasting relief.
Every experience will be a unique one, facilitated in a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate environment.
The client is typically encouraged to wear loose fitting clothing that will allow for free movement, and no oils or lotions are used in order to obtain firm contact with the skin and the underlying fascial structures.
MFR is most respectful to the rhythm and pace of the body
a slower approach allows the body sufficient time to adjust to pressures, and thus become more receptive to receive a deeper release. Ultimately, MFR is never forceful or injurious, and focuses on the body as a whole unit, instead of isolated parts. Although individual symptoms will be addressed, this whole-body approach aims to discover the root cause of dysfunction.
Is MFR Right For Me?
In fact, everyone and anyone can benefit in some way from MFR! Traditionally, direct myofascial release is sometimes referred to as deep tissue work or soft tissue mobilization. However, since not all situations require deep work, pressure is constantly adjusted to the client's needs at the time of treatment. Often only the lightest pressure is necessary to provide a gentle stretch, thus creating a slow drag in the system, allowing for increased circulation and pain relief. MFR is truly a unique whole-body approach to treatment, often with profound results. MFR is appropriate for clients of any age, and can be useful for almost any condition or ailment, outside of open wounds or emergency situations. This approach is ideal for:

At Emerge, the style of yoga we practice can be described as "Alignment Based Vinyasa". All of the traditional yoga classes we offer fall under this sub-heading. Vinyasa is a word that simply describes "the linking of breath with body movement." Classes will provide an opportunity for students to flow through creative sequences from one posture to the next, sometimes at a vigorous pace & others with extended holds. Alignment implies that all of our classes focus on integrity of body structure, promoting both safety & therapeutic release in every pose. In every class, students will experience a fusion of flowing sequences with extended exploration of postures, all leading to meditative experience & blissful savasana.
Move + Meditate: Vinyasa + Meditation
Move your Body; Quiet Your Mind. This is Emerge's signature yoga class, and as the name implies, is a mashup of creative movement and mindful contemplation, sweating away the stresses of the day & preparing the body to release into bliss. Every session begins with a "dharma talk" or central theme that is threaded throughout an intelligently sequenced vinyasa (movement guided by breath), leading to seated meditation & savasana (final relaxation). Engage: Slow Flow + Fundamentals
Engage is the class to both learn and/or refine the fundamentals of yoga asana (poses). Combining a slow flow vinyasa with focus on props and modifications, this session supports you in reaching optimal alignment and safety in postures. Creating a strong foundation, with a few optional variations, Engage is an excellent place for any yoga newbie to learn the basics and feel comfortable in class, as well as an opportunity for the more practiced yogi(ni) to refine their practice with alignment & grace! Sweat Out Stress; Surrender into Bliss. This class is perfect for the Type A yogi(ni), who is constantly on the go and is looking for a place to actively unwind. By combining the energy and heat of a vinyasa flow practice with the deep therapeutic release of restorative postures and/or yoga nidra, even the most upbeat individual will sweetly surrender into stillness. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation from savasana that is known to release stress, increase resiliency, and promote a sense of well-being and ease in body, mind and spirit. Rockin' Vinyasa: Upbeat Vinyasa Flow

With conscious attention to linking your breath with fluid movement, you'll feel that internal groove yogi(ni)s refer to as prana (life force). Get ready to breath, sweat, and experience shakti (energy) as your move your body to music, creating an internal rhythm of balance & bliss! R&R: Release & Restore: Yin + Restorative
This class balances the deep therapeutic release of yin yoga with the support and ease provided by restorative postures. The repetitive stresses of everyday life are constantly stored in our body's connective tissue or fascia. Over time, this can lead to chronic pain. In yin yoga, postures are held for an extended period of time, propped up for support, in order to release tension from the fascia. Then during restorative, blankets in bolsters create the foundation for your body & mind to relax. It's from this space that we begin to integrate the benefits of our physical practice, leading to complete physical, mental & emotional restoration. SunRise Salutations: Morning Sweet Flow
Start your day with shakti (energy) in this 60-minute awakening vinyasa class. Explore gentle movements & sweet stretches to unlock tension and awaken your muscles. Move mindfully through sun salutations to warm up the body, energizing breath work to stimulate the mind, and a deep savasana to revitalize your spirit... preparing you for a radiant day! AntiGravity Yoga (AGY), a fusion technique, is often seen as a bridge between fitness and traditional yoga modalities. Whether you're brand new or already studyin' with a guru, AGY classes at Emerge will support beginners while simultaneously providing an exhilarating workout that challenges even the most practiced fitness junkie! Flying Fitness is an excellent class for both the beginner or frequent flyer alike to experience an up beat isometric cardio conditioning workout - all while suspended in the air & defying gravity! Flip and fly through space as you get fit, increasing your flexibility, mobility, cardio and muscular capacity to a bumpin' playlist. The AGY Harrison Hammock provides an opportunity to stretch, strengthen & break a sweat - connecting to muscles from your head to your toes that will give you the workout of your life in a fun, lighthearted & dynamic way! Aerial Flow is the ideal class for any student looking to make more of a connection to themselves and the hammock. Slower paced than a "fitness" class, this session will guide you into deep stretches with a focus on spine traction & overall stability. However, don't let the pace fool you, holding poses can make you sweat as you explore your body freely in space, discovering muscles you didn't even know you had! By ulilizing the AGY Hammock as a suspension device to enhance spinal decompression, muscular weight resistance, alignment, and deeper stretches, this class provides a comprehensive total body workout, while simultaneously soothing the nervous system and quieting the mind through floating meditations. AntiGravity Deep Release
Deep Release is the gentle, meditative, slow stretching and rehabilitative version of AGY. This powerful method focuses the mind through visualizations as it floats the body through a series of gentle gyro-kinetic motions, deeply opening the entire spine, hips and the connective tissues of the body. Each class features full body inversions alongside various forms of flowing spinal traction. It offers accessibility to students with physical limitations, but is loved by all as a portal into deeper spinal flexibility and mind/body connection. Deep Release incorporates levitation meditations, zero compression inversions, supported sun salutations, joint opening poses, and a floating cocoon, while working from different hammock heights to allow for a gentle opening of the hips and spine. This extensive Aerial Dance Conditioning program brings dance into the AGY Hammocks! Dance develops ideal bodylines through the toning and lengthening of muscles, while also developing balance and agility. AntiGravity Frequent Flyer Sessions
Advance your asana in the air with these classes specifically designated for our Emerge Frequent Flyers. These in depth sessions will spend less time breaking down the basics for those already acquainted and comfortable with the AGY hammock. With the added air time, it's possible to get to the point & go deep, exploring more flips, tricks, and advanced progressions you won't get to see in open level classes. Aerial flows will still move slow but with added core, strengthening & challenging flying vinyasa variations. In fitness get ready to sweat as you explore a total body conditioning workout as you fly, flip & float through space. Level: Frequent Flyers Only (Must take 5+ Open Level AGY Classes and/or have instructor endorsement before attending).
Airful Ambiance with Young Living Essential Oils
Many Emerge AntiGravity classes are accompanied by the sweet aroma of Young Living therapeutic grade essential oils. The oils chosen create a multi-sensory experience adding to the ambiance of the class. Certain scents have uplifting or stimulating properties, while others are grounding, calming & soothing. Throughout classes, options for oils may be offered to enhance your experience.

While group classes are a great way to flow in community & sweat out stress, private sessions are structured to meet your specific needs & individualized goals. Privates are excellent if you are a(n): beginner hoping to get comfortable to join a group class; continuing student working with a specific challenge pose; individual with injuries/special needs that need one-on-one attention; looking for a specific class time that accommodates your busy schedule; family looking for joint sessions with kids (parent & child, baby fly etc); pre/post-natal woman who needs some extra TLC; passionate practitioner ready to go deeper into your practice.

Emerge Kids: Learning Life Skills & Building Confidence
At Emerge, we provide both Traditional Yoga & AntiGravity Classes for Kids of ALL AGES. While many of us have found yoga later in life, we recognize quickly that the benefits are vast! In a day and age where children are inundated with the media, and societal pressures are looming, give your little one an opportunity to grow & explore creatively in a safe environment. All kids classes are structured to introduce basic life skills and build confidence in a light-hearted way while having fun. Kids Land: Mini Yogi(ni)s: Ages 5-10
As we all know, yoga provides an incredibly way to unwind, relax, and learn to breath in the midst of life and all of its challenges. For kids, the mindfulness of a yoga class will not only help them develop self-control, but also build confidence while learning to work and play in a team. All of our Emerge Kids (land) classes will inspire your little ones in a creative space of community and self expression!
Kids AGY: Glider + Flyers: Ages 5-10
This class utilizes thematic material to engage children while they swing, stretch, spin, balance, strengthen core muscles, and open the imagination. In these sessions your little gliders & flyers will discover how much fun exercise can be, while conquering fears and building self-confidence. You will notice improvement in your child's focus, flexibility, and strength.
Teens AGY & Pajama Fly: Ages 11 & Up
Enjoy more of the same flips, tricks & inversions of a typical AGY class, but with a bit more of an upbeat vibe and radiant energy. Teens (11 & up - younger frequent flyers must be approved by management) are welcome without being accompanied by an adult in this TEENS ONLY CLASS! Fun loud music will be playing as you flip and do tricks with the AntiGravity hammock. Time will be left for open play and pictures to show-off on Instagram and Facebook.
AGY Family Fly: Ages 8-108
Since we encourage a family atmosphere at Emerge, this class is open to everyone! Join us and fly, float & have fun, in this upbeat yet lighthearted class, connecting to what youth means for you! Bring a relative, friend, or simply come solo and redefine "family" as you join ours. This class is open to all, ages 8 to 108 (younger children will need instructor endorsement).
AGY Emerging Flyers: Special Needs Ages 6+ with Adult
This class utilizes thematic material to engage both parent and child. Together and independently they will explore flying, strength-building, stretching, and imagination techniques to enhance the mind-body connection. AGY Baby Fly: Infant - 2.5 years + Adult
This class focuses on gentle stretching, core strength building, and fine tuning awareness for the parent-designed to nurture bonding with the child in a soothing environment. AntiGravity Kids addresses the child's developmental milestones physically, emotionally, and socially. This class supports the vestibular system and spatial awareness through rocking, spinning, and swinging.
