Dowsing 101
Presented by Lori Drienka, Master Dowser. Saturday, June 21, 12-1:30. Ever heard of witching or divining with rods to find water? That is dowsing. An ancient technique which is basically just tapping into divine source to get answers. Dowsing has so many practical applications that you can use each and every day. Everyone is capable of dowsing and it is a great way to 'fine tune' your intuition by getting a visual answer to your questions. Come prepared for hands on experience. All ages are welcome. Drum Circle with Michael Jochum
Join us every Thursday evening at 6:00 for drum circle in the carriage house. Michael is a retired, professional drummer and yoga/meditation instructor. Bring your own drum or you are welcome to play one of Michael's drums. $10/person, $5/child, $25/family. Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary! This is an amazing experience. Michael Jochum-Drum Circle
Michael likes to describe his career in the music business as the dream within a dream. "when I was 12 years old, I sat at a friends drum set, picked up the drumsticks, and understood immediately that this was exactly what I wanted to do with my life." Beginning his musical life in the late 1970s in Los Angeles, Michael realized that the best way to make a living in the "Business of music," was to carve out a niche for himself in the recording industry. "I came on the scene during a fertile time in the television and movie industry, so I began performing on television and film scores. My very first recording session was for the theme of the television show Happy Days." Thus began a career in the music business that would span over 30 years. Michael's musical journey would encompass over 300 television and film scores, as well as hundreds of record albums. "I have also been blessed with the ability to work with some of the finest artists our time, including Jackson Browne in the 90s, Christina Aguilera in the 2000, and finally with the "nu-metal" Rock band Korn and Jonathan Davis. Having been born with the neural tube defect spina bifida, Michael has experienced many surgeries in the past eight years, which eventually led to his retirement from the music business. "I had discovered yoga in my mid 20s and always had a passion for it, but it was only a couple of years ago that I rediscovered it, and found my spiritual practice embodied in the principles of yogic philosophy. Today I practice yoga with devotion, and do my best to be of service to my community. I believe that the drum is an extremely powerful tool. The primal vibration, and the ease in which anyone can pick up a drum and play, enable something beautiful to happen in the collective consciousness. The drum circle is an obvious extension of that tool, enabling people to come together, providing a sense of unity and harmony."
Marrana Davis
Many years ago Marrana knew that she wanted to BE a teacher and after her 1st yoga class, in 1995-ish, she found WHAT she wanted to teach and share with the world. She is a Certified All levels Integrative Hatha Yoga teacher, KRI approved Kundalini Yoga Teacher — as taught by Yogi Bhajan, and a certified Spin/Yoga instructor. Marrana’s yoga classes invite each participant to set an intention for their practice, their day, maybe even their life…with mindful breathing, moving the body thru flowing postures and ending with a smile. Her music is varied & fun and many of the regular students that come to Marrana’s classes enjoy a sense of camaraderie and community built through a shared practice. Marrana is also a certified massage therapist and currently is in school for Esthetics. Saturday classes begin at 9:00am (1hr 15min) of All levels Hatha & at 10:30 Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan (approx. 1 1/2 hr) Leave feeling AMAZING and ready to enjoy your weekend.
