About Us
Nestled in a Baldwin Park shopping center that is home to a real estate office and a laundromat, a quaint Italian restaurant offers a whole lot of comfort.
El Appetiz serves more than your typical fine Italian cuisine. This is not your local Olive Garden. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Olive Garden.
But I love how El Appetiz throws more variety into their dishes, which range from salads and pizza to calzones and sandwiches, all at reasonable prices.
When I head out to El Appetiz, one of my favorite local spots for lunch, I am usually craving my version of “comfort food:” warm, rich, guilty-pleasure food.
The pasta dinners here are so hearty with flavorful spices and sauces drenching tender pasta and fresh chicken, seafood or vegetables.
On most occasions I order a pasta dish like the blackened chicken fettuccine or the shrimp New Orleans over linguine that has the spicy kick I crave.
A half-plate of pasta runs between $6.50 and $7.50 while a full plate ranges from $7.25 to $9.50.
But on this outing I decided to try something new. The grilled chicken and avocado club pizza bread sandwich called out to me. I love anything with avocado,
