The Duke of Edinburgh pub and restaurant was the dream of three Englishmen and one American who wished to build a pub and restaurant in California with the same atmosphere as the pubs in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In order to insure that the setting was authentic, a pub designer from England was brought to California to help with the design. After approval by Vallco and the City of Cupertino, the plans were sent to England where the complete interior of the pub was built. Everything inside - the bar, the ceiling, the carpet, the wallpaper, the lamps, EVERYTHING, was made in England
