This beginner's class breaks down the fundamentals of oil painting into manageable blocks. Students will learn about composition, paint mixing, drawing with paint, values (light/dark), and color theory. Oil paints are lustrous and sumptuous, the gold standard of mediums throughout the history of art.
Intermediate/Advanced Oil Painting
Students may be looking to develop their signature style or make a shift in their work and try something new. Many techniques and alternative mediums are explored, including impasto, scumbling, glazing, wet on wet, collaging, and more. Oil painting is a practice that one can continue to hone and develop throughout one's life.
Mixed Levels Oil Painting
Students will create beautiful canvases that will reward viewing for years ahead. No previous art classes are required, though this class is well suited for artists who've worked in other mediums. This class is perfect for beginning students who haven't painted with oils but want to develop their own style.
