Rate per Day
The rate works just like a hotel with a check-out time 10:00 am. You are charged for the day you drop your dog off regardless of the time. You are not charged for the day you pick up if you are here before 10am. Dogs picked up anytime after 10am will be charged for that day. For example, if you drop your dog off at 4:30pm on Friday and pick up on Sunday at 4:30, you would be charged for 3 days- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It would also be a 3 day charge if you picked your dog up on Monday morning before 10 am. The reason you pay for an extra day if your dog is here past 10 am is that we cannot put another dog in that run until you dog has left, the run has been disinfected and had time to dry. Payment due upon pick up. We accept cash, check and credit cards. Three Day charge minimum for Holidays.
NEW One-on-One Activities with Staff Member
For the dogs that crave more human interaction, we are pleased to offer these add on services: Price: $5 for 15 minutes. As always, there is no charge for the standard yard playtime, alone or with other dogs.
Private Leash Walk
What to Bring
Proof of vaccination from the veterinarian showing current rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccinations.
This is very important; we cannot take your dog without proof of vaccination. We do not have a fax machine, so please bring a hard copy in with you. Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Food for your dog.
Keeping your dog on the same food they eat at home helps prevent digestive upset. We do have a refrigerator to store opened canned food or specially prepared meals. If you would like us to provide food for your dog, it is an extra dollar per day for each dog.
Any toys, bones, or treats you'd like your dog to have.
We provide bedding and bowls.
Hours for Drop Off or Pick Up
We are open from 8am to 12 noon and 3pm to 6pm seven days a week, including holidays.
You can drop off or pick up your dog anytime during these hours. For your convenience, we are open 7 hours a day, 365 days a year! Please note that there is not staff here to check dogs in or out between the hours of noon and 3pm. This is nap time for the dogs, as well as our time to get lunch, run errands, do outdoor chores, and go to the laundry mat to wash dog bedding. We do not offer early drop offs or late pick ups, so if you need to leave before 8 am, please drop your dog off the day before. If you are not going to make it back in time to pick up your dog by 6 pm, your dog can spend the night and you can pick up before 10 am the following morning for no additional charge.
Call ahead of time to make boarding or grooming reservations. Please, no walk ins.
Kindly let us know at least 48 hours prior to scheduled drop off date if you will no longer need our services, or are changing the drop off/pick up date.
Holiday Cancellation Policy
We require one full week's notice for cancellations or changes to scheduled reservations over Holidays, including Spring Break. The fee for less than 7 days notice cancellation is $57 for one dog or $96 for two dogs. We reserve the right to charge for the entire stay booked if reservations are changed (drop off date is pushed back, dog is picked up early) and we are unable to fill the spot. Normally our schedule is quite flexible, but as the holidays are our busiest times of the year, we must ask clients to pay for the time that they reserve.
Here are the fees associated
with last minute (less than 48 hours) notice cancellations or reservation changes (delayed drop off or early pick up) We have limited space are frequently a full capacity, which means we have to turn away families that would like to board their dogs here. When customers pick up their dogs early, cancel reservations, or change reservations without giving us enough notice (48 hours), we are often unable to fill the space we reserved for them. While we do keep a waiting list, most people will have made other arrangements for their pet by that time, so we end up having an open run. This is lost income for us, as well as an inconvenience to the families that are turned away. Please be considerate and let others use the time that you don't.

Bedding & Other Belongings
We have bedding here that we can provide for your dog at no charge. We encourage you to let us provide the bedding as this makes our job much easier. However, if your dog absolutely must have his or her favorite bed, you can bring it along. The bedding needs to be reasonably sized so that it can fit into the run, which can sometimes be an issue since the run doors open in. The Dog On Inn is not responsible for any chewed or soiled bedding. We make every effort to send bedding home clean, but since we do not wash laundry on site, its often difficult to get blankets washed before sending dogs home. Also, many dogs that don't chew bedding at home enjoy ripping the stuffing out of their favorite bed while they're here. All of this applies to toys as well. Additionally, the Dog On Inn is not responsible for any belongings lost or left behind. Please label your dog's items.
Dispensing medication (giving pills, applying eye/ear drops, insulin injections, etc) is a nominal charge of $1 per day for up to two treatments daily. If your dog requires medication dispensed more than two times per day, there may be an additional fee. Please be sure to bring your dog's medication as well as peanut butter, cheese, pill pockets, hot dogs, or whatever snack your dog likes best.
Long Term Boarding
We offer a 10% discount for dogs boarded for three weeks or more. This discount applies to boarding only and does not extend to grooming or retail. To receive this 10% discount, you must pre-pay 50% of the total boarding bill at time of drop off. Dogs that are booked for more than three weeks and are picked up early will be charged the lesser of the entire discounted booked reservation or the regular daily rate for the period the dog was boarded.
Daycare for one dog is $15 per day or a 10 visit package is available for $130 ($13/day); Daycare for two dogs is $26 per day ($13 each) or a 10 visit package for $220 ($11 each/day). Intact males over 6 months of age will be charged an extra $2 per day for daycare, so 10 visit package price is $150.
We also offer daycare seven days a week, reservation required. Dogs can be dropped off between 8 am and 12 noon, with pick up from 3 to 6pm. Please keep in mind that we do not have an indoor play area for the dogs, so playtime may be limited during inclement weather. Daycare is typically not available around the holidays since the kennel will be full with dogs here for boarding, so please call for availability.
Let us get your pup cleaned up right before they go home! This is an especially good idea if your dog likes to play hard and has gotten slobbery and dirty from playing with friends. Please let us know when you drop your dog off for boarding that you would like him or her groomed. The service we provide is far and above the basic 'hose off the dog'. Your dog will look, smell and feel amazing! What a Bath includes:
We use a high quality lanolin protein shampoo. This is a specially formulated dog shampoo that is soap free, which means it won't irritate your dogs skin or wash off their topical flea preventative. It's also tear free, so its safe to use on the dogs face without any discomfort to your pup. We wash every inch of the dog and carefully massage deep down through the coat to the skin.
While in the tub, we also use conditioner with real Arm & Hammer baking soda and colloidal oatmeal. It penetrates coats to simplify combing and lessen the pulling and tugging normally associated with untangling hair, as well as being naturally soothing for your dog's skin. This wonderful conditioner also gives the coat a shimmering sheen, pleasant scent, and beautiful look and feel.
Our high powered blow dryer not only dries your dog in a hurry, but also blows out any loose hair or dander. It will leave your dog soft and fluffy.
Special ear cleaner helps removed any build up or debris in the ear canal.
Every bath includes a complimentary nail trim.

Tips for an Easy Transition
Worried about boarding your dog? We understand! Your dog is part of your family, is used to being pampered and sleeping in bed with you. We treat the dogs here as if they were our own and do our very best to make sure that each and every dog enjoys their stay. Here's some things you can do to help...
Bring your dog in for a visit ahead of time.
Schedule a daycare visit- drop your dog off in the morning, let them stay for the day, and pick up in the afternoon. This gives him/her a chance to meet us, see the place, and understand that you are coming back to get him/her. Daycare visits are by appointment and on week days only.
A shirt or little blankie that smells like home can help your dog feel more secure.
Bring along an old t-shirt that you have worn and still has your smell on it.
Quick happy good bye's! When you drop your dog off, be positive and tell your pup "Go have a good time at camp!
I'll see you in a few days" and give him a quick pat. Your emotions go right down the leash to your dog, so if you are really upset, he will be too. If you are happy and make it fun for your dog, he's more apt to be relaxed and happy too.
Start with a short visit during a slow time at the kennel.
Have your dog stay for just a couple of days in the middle of the week when its quieter here. Our busiest times are around the holidays and on spring break when people are traveling.
Trust us! We've been taking care of dogs for many years and are professionals.
If there is one thing we know, its dogs! If we have any problems, questions or concerns, we will not hesitate to call you. Otherwise, no news is good news while your dog is staying with us.
Keep your dog's vaccinations up to date even if you aren't planning on boarding anytime soon.
Two reasons: Emergencies pop up and people often have to go out of town for a funeral or other circumstance last minute. You don't want to be stuck trying to get your dog into the vet while you are stressed and trying to arrangement to leave; Vaccinating your dog right before bringing him to the kennel does not offer him the best protection. It's best to vaccinate at least a couple days prior to boarding so that the vaccination has a chance to get into your dog's system. Remember, we cannot take your dog if he is not up to date on vaccinations, so don't wait until the last minute to get these done. The three things we require are rabies, distemper and bordetella.

The Dog On Inn is top notch dog boarding facility serving the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo areas. We are here to offer a fun, safe, and comfortable place for your dog to stay. Some dogs stay with us while their owners are out of town on vacation, others during house renovations or when their family is moving, and others come to visit when there are going to be a lot of visitors in their house. No matter the reason, we are happy to care for your dog. All breeds, all sizes, all ages are welcome. They can stay for a couple hours to play, visit for a long weekend, or some dogs even stay with us for a month at time. Once the dogs have been here for a couple of days, they settle right into our routine.
We have seven fenced in play yards! This means that all of the dogs get plenty of outdoor playtime, either individually or in small groups. With that many yards, there is less time spent waiting your turn and more time running around and playing. We don't charge any extra for playtime; going outside at least four times a day is included in our standard boarding rate. Each yard has shade- either natural shading from trees or a shade sail. There are balls, toys and nylabones for the dogs to play with. We've even added loungers for the pups that would prefer to just relax. Play ramps provide a higher vantage point for the dogs that like to watch the world go by. The ramps also offer endless hours of entertainment and fun as dog run over, around and under playing chase with their friends.
