About Us
The current site of Discovery Green was originally a high-end residential neighborhood in the late 19th century. However, the area was radically altered with the construction of a railroad station in the early 20th century along the eastern border of downtown. Visitors to Discovery Green can chose from two contemporary restaurants or pack a picnic to enjoy with family and friends. The restaurants are operated by the Schiller Del Grande Restaurant Group noted for signature restaurants Café Annie and RDG. The Grove is Discovery Green’s signature restaurant under the direction of Robert Del Grande, one of the greatest chefs in America. Whether one is in the mood for a leisurely meal in the park, or drinks and appetizers on the second floor “treehouse” deck, The Grove is a unique setting for gatherings of all types and sizes. It is the definitive see-and-be-seen culinary hotspot in Houston’s urban core and has redefined downtown dining since opening in January 2008.
