del Inti is a new Peruvian-Northwest inspired restaurant highlighting the Northwest's seasonality with a Peruvian flair. del Inti literally means "of the sun" in Incan. Husband and wife owners, Ignacio and Erin del Solar, want this warmth to be felt in the cuisine and service at del Inti.
Ignacio in the kitchenIgnacio's Peruvian background and culinary experience are reflected in his sophisticated style of cooking. Growing up in Peru, he tasted many types of food common in his country, Japanese and Chinese being two prominent presences, along with the more familiar Mediterranean cuisines. These styles influenced Ignacio during his early culinary days in Lima. After moving to California, Ignacio began to refine his cooking style with more of an emphasis on seasonality and simply what made sense to him. Ignacio's instinct and abilty to choose an ingredient and focus it in the best light comes through in del Inti's menu.
sunflowersErin enjoys cooking as well and shares a culinary background with Ignacio. The two met while working the line together at San Francisco's Hawthorne Lane. After continuing their culinary careers in San Francisco, the two relocated to Portland where Ignacio became the chef at Andina. After the birth of their daughter, Lucia, the del Solars felt that the timing was just right to pursue their dream of opening a restaurant...
