Day’s began in 1932 when Great Grandma Mary Ann Day started cooking hamburgers out of a box car under a big cottonwood tree on the corner of Las Cruces and Water St. during the Great Depression. She would sell to cotton workers, Coca Cola plant workers, farmers, and school children. Since then, Grandma Cherlene Lee, Donna Lee, and currently Deney-Rae Evans have carried on the tradition.
