Oh tempting isn't it cant make it go away might as well except that fact In fact keep your so called friend around to remind you of just that your so called friend is always around Can I be bigger than it well maybe yes maybe no time will tell and time always tells The real enemy is time not the ex friend we don't have to speak any longer but one of mans greatest gifts can also turn into his greatest foes the gift of forgiveness so we try and forgive the wrong that was done to us but some wrongs can never be forgiven for when we do some of our ex friends and obsessions just do it to us again Like the frog and the scorpion hey I'm a scorpion what did you want me to do So in not forgiving some do we become less or do we grow. If it all happens for a reason then the reason here is to learn learn about us me you ourselves we know where we can and cannot tread we can slay the beast but the eternal beast is not a one time battle it has the only constant on its side time the beast can be reincarnated indefinably and will be there with the help of time when you want it Yes that's right when you want it for you are the only one that gives it power breathes life into it reanimates is god to the daemon. Life giver to the life taker do it don't do it its up to you you have the power and gift of life and death of your foe it doesn't even exist except in your mind so pick or choose boxing a shadow that hits back but really isnt even there its just you and your desire. Two that are at peace and odds with themselves forever in our eternity

Steve is a friend who drives around the south searching out the tastiest in season fruits and vegetables. Today he came in with Alabama peaches. Most were oh so Juicy and sweet with the perfume of summer in a wildflower field. Had to just couldn't help myself grabbed my Kershaw from my belt and randomly selected one. Cutting in the juice poured down my hand and onto my arm. Gathered the cooks around and we had a remarkable tasting of one of Summer's true treats. Peaches left on the tree to ripen. The stories started flying of grandmas and childhood. Cobblers and Jams. Pie and pickled. Pork chops, salads desserts making a menu isn't hard when you start off with not only a beautiful product but one that evokes such emotional memory. Everyone said wow that is a good peach as juice dripped from chins and before we knew it 4 peaches were nothing put some seeds Without people like Steve we would be doomed to hard tasteless peaches left on the counter to soften but never developing the flavor that comes from tree ripening picking up the Flavours of a specific terroir sugar development perfume a sort of time travel to childhood and a time when to keep the kids out the house and burn some energy we were sent to pick peaches with the promise of the best peach pie and on the lucky days dare I say a la mode!!!! We all have our own time travel to a place that to us was perfection surrounded by family and love. Pie crust made the old way with ingredients and that extra something called love that just doesn't show it's wonderful face much anymore. It was beautiful and a great break from the wilderness and mountains of work that is a restaurant weekend. So here's to Steve etter and all the Steve etters out there. Thank you for letting me visit even for a short time with my grandmother and a simpler time called childhood summer
thinking of winter food
cold out, around here sometimes, makes me think of turning on the oven and braising something. there is something so wonderful about how a long cook item warms the house with its smells of spices and richness that just says home. i use a korean braising potthat i picked up along the way. made of clay it just gently radiates the heat at an even distribution that i dont think can be beat. i like to load it with oxtails and short ribs aromatics and seasoning like clove and cinnamon and put it in the oven for 12 to 14 hours. fills the house with warm aromas and then the meat is so tender and flavorful i just make white ricee and eat my fill.
