The washing station is owned and operated by Epiphanie Mukashyaka, a genocide survivor, and her son Sam Muhirwa, who pay a premium to smallholder farmers to ensure they receive the highest quality coffee. Roasted to bring out a vanilla-like sweetness, you might also detect a bit of honey underneath the delicate lemon and more pronounced juicy mandarin orange.
