Crystal Ristorante' & Bar had its beginning over 55 years ago when Anthony Centi, Sr. was a bartender in his brother-in-law's establishment, Carl's Tavern, on Bridge Street. Later, Tony owned and operated the Lyon Street Grill until 1945. Purchasing a two-family residence located at 72 Lyon Street, Tony converted it to a restaurant and bar. A contest was held to determine the name and "Crystal Bar" was the winning entry. Dr. Paul Centi appropriately deemed it the Crystal Bar because at that time the entire bar was built out of crystal tiles.
