We have been clients of Creature’s Comforts for over 10 years now. We travel a lot for our jobs, and Sharon has consistently provided us with high-quality and reliable care for our indoor cats. She has graciously taken on extra care issues with old cats, unexpected trips to the vet, and numerous travel and home-security glitches as well. It helps us a lot to know that we can leave home on short notice and not have to worry about our pets or our home! She also undertook an extensive effort to begin managing a local population of feral cats that was getting out of control, for which the neighbors, the city, and we are most grateful. In short, we are very happy to recommend her services!
About Us
“Our primary responsibility is to keep the daily lives of clients’ animals as normal and stress-free as possible,” said owner Sharon Carter.
Creatures’ Comforts was founded in March 1993
and is full-service petsitting company providing periodic visits, daily dog walks, and overnight stays for dogs, cats, birds, small exotics and fresh and salt water aquariums. The business celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year, and continues to operate in its original location in the Houston Heights. It also serves the Galleria, River Oaks, Montrose, Garden Oaks, Oak Forest, Shady Grove, Shepherd Park Plaza, Washington/Westcott, Bellaire, West University, Meyerland, Westbury, and Pearland areas.
Although many of Creatures’ Comforts clients utilize the service for business and vacation travel
a large segment of the business is generated by clients who need daily dog walks during the work week. All of the employees serve a number of dogs during the midday hours, either because the dogs are very young or elderly, or their owners have an extremely busy schedule that keeps them away from home for extended hours during the day.
In addition to periodic visits and daily dog walks
Creatures’ Comforts also provides pet taxi service for clients who need transportation to and from grooming, veterinary visits, or doggy day care. A Registered Veterinary Technician is on staff for unforeseen emergencies.
Per visit price varies due to specific requirements of each job, but there is seldom an extra charge for additional animals.

Sharon Carter (Owner - Creatures’ Comforts)
Sharon Carter founded Creatures’ Comforts in March of 1993 as a logical progression of a lifelong avocation. Having taken care of pets most of her life for family, friends and neighbors, Carter finally decided to leave the hectic world of radio marketing and advertising to earn a living in the more predictable world of four-legged animals. For the past twenty years, she has officially dealt with pampered pets, sick pets, diabetic pets, allergic pets, special needs pets, and even aggressive pets. “My most stressful day as a petsitter is still far more desirable than the stress that the corporate world can dish out,” said Carter. “I always know where I stand with animals.” In addition to tending to the day-to-day operation of Creatures’ Comforts, Carter still finds time to tend to her own family of “rescued pets” - several cats, Mackie her Sheltie, and Zippy the rabbit, as well as participating in feral cat rescue and TNR (trap - neuter - return). “Making my living with animals is by far the most rewarding thing that I have ever done,” said Carter. “It gives me a real sense of purpose”.

Testimonials
Sharon Stagg, KBR
Sharon has been taking care of Annie and Bear-my two rescue kitties-for over ten years, and all three of us love her! I know that when I travel I can depend upon Sharon to be there and to watch out for their health and happiness. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Wanda Crowsley, BP Counsel
We have used Creatures' Comforts for three years, and are most comfortable entrusting our house and variety of dogs and cats in their care, either for daily noon visits, or even overnight visits for a week at a time. Our animals are cared for with love, genuine care, and expert knowledge. I unreservedly recommend Sharon and the team at Creatures' Comforts.
Stephanie Payne, Esq, Air Liquide
Sharon Carter, owner of Creatures’ Comfort, has been caring for my animal companions - dogs, cats and an Umbrella Cockatoo - since shortly after I moved to Houston in January 1998. She has always provided them with the TLC that they need. I cannot possibly travel as much as I do (once or twice a month for three or four days each trip) without the peace of mind of knowing that Sharon is taking care of my “kids”. I enthusiastically recommend Sharon.
Denise Butler, Shell Oil
Sharon has been my dog sitter for 7 years and is totally reliable and trustworthy. Her services allow me to manage 2 large dogs and a busy career. I don’t know what I would do without her!
