No Gi Jiu Jitsu (Sparring)
Duration: 1 hour; Free; "To gi or not to gi..." It doesn't need to be the question at Connors Mixed Martial Arts Academy, because any type of gym apparel is welcome! Come get your kicks at this no gi jiu jitsu class! You'll learn how to mount, guard, and choke from an experienced instructor, who will teach the moves step-by-step. Special emphasis will be placed on sparring, so you'll be a pro in no time! Like all martial arts, jiu jitsu involves exercising both the mind and the body, resulting in holistic benefits such as strengthened muscles, increased agility, and improved endurance. This class is the perfect way to workout your body and gain confidence. By the end of class you'll be prepared for anything that the world may throw at you! Muay Thai Kickboxing
Duration: 1 hour; Free; Muay Thai Kickboxing: a great way to get in shape, learn self-defense, and, most importantly, have fun! The class begins with a brief warm-up of shadow boxing. Then, after getting introduced to the basic methods of the combat sport, you will progress to technique and pad work, bag work, and partner drills. You'll get a terrific workout while still going at your own pace. The class finishes with ab work and a cool down period.
