Checkerboard, Calistoga, Napa Valley, CA 2017
$795.00
This wine has a very rich, ripe, red fruit character with underlying power and concentration. The tannins are sweet and velvety and overall showing beautiful balance and finesse. The lengthy finish shows off the multiple layered structure and incredible depth of the wine. The final blend consists of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon (comprised of seven Cabernet clones) with 1% of each Petit Verdot and Merlot. Once again, the number of cases is quite small, just short of 250 of the 2010 Checkerboard
Dominus, Napa Valley, CA 2016
$750.00
A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc aged in 40% new oak, the 2016 Proprietary Red Wine is deep purple-black in color and quite reticent at this youthful stage to begin, offering up subtle notions of potpourri, Indian spices, cigar box and iron ore over a core of crushed blackberries and black cherries with intermittent wafts of black and red currants, new leather and smoked meats. The palate is medium to full-bodies with a densely packed mid-palate and oodles of freshness framed by very ripe, finely grained tannins and laced with compelling earthy accents
Eisele Vineyards, Calistoga, Napa Valley, CA 2015
$1,200.00
The 2015 vintage is full of energy. The initial nose is spicy with forward notes of cinnamon, vanilla, blonde tobacco, and cumin. With a swirl, highly expressive lily and rose aromas immediately lift from the glass, followed by a dark bouquet of black currant and boysenberry. The mouthfeel is characterized by round and silky tannins with great tension and energy. Fresh summer fruits are dominant with a hint of bayleaf and black olive, with earthier notes and spices building complexity as the wine lingers in a suave and long finish, characteristic of the Eisele Terroir
Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley, CA 2007
$895.00
Pure and concentrated, Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon shares the unique beauty of its Napa Valley terroir with its lush varietal aroma. This is a well-integrated wine with a generous core of dark, rich fruit, lightly balances with mint. Layers of black cherry flavor unfold gracefully across the palate, building to a long, lovely finish
Hundred Acre "Wraith" St. Helena, CA 2016
$1,395.00
The 2016 vintage has an incredible senso of elegance and finesse pained with beautiful richness and depth. Deep ruby/purple, with cassis and kirsch fruits as well as stunning notes of tobacco and toast. This is cabernet sauvignon at its most complex, seamless, and elegant
Cardinale, Napa Valley, CA 2016
$695.00
The 2016 is a mélange of blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry pie, mocha, slate, graphite, and toasted vanilla that will awaken you to the incredible vintage that was and is 2016. Another great creation from winemaker, Christopher Carpenter. 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot
Lokoya, Mount Veeder, Napa Valley, CA 2016
$1,100.00
"Like a satellite dish perfectly aligned to capture radio waves, the Veeder Peak Vineyard sits above the fog line in a small geologic scallop of the Mount Veeder appellation – perfectly aligned to capture the first rays of sun that peek out from the eastern side of the valley. This high-energy boost is like an early morning cup of coffee to the vines, jolting them awake to create the incredible flavors that define Mount Veeder. The 2016 Lokoya Mount Veeder, with its intense and focused blue fruit, Asian spice aromatics, and chewy tannins, offers a purity of understanding of Veeder's signature characteristics." – 100 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Opus One, Napa Valley, CA 2005
$1,100.00
The result of a partnership between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild to create a Bordeaux style blend in Napa Valley. A voluptuous garnet, the 2005 Opus One offers concentrated aromas of blueberry, rose petals, white truffle, licorice and nutmeg. Flavors of cassis, black olives, raspberry and dark chocolate. A classic Bordeaux style blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec
Velvet Glove, McLaren Vale, Australia 2014
$450.00
Deep dark purple in color, Velvet Glove indulges your senses with fresh berries, plum, vanilla, licorice and hints of clove. Intense chocolate layers accompanied with luscious cherry and blackberry fruits result in a rich and opulent mouthfeel. With beautiful balance and finesse, its finely poised tannins and concentrated flavours shine radiantly long after the first sip
Verite "Le Desir" Sonoma, California 2015
$895.00
A blend of 64% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec, the very deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Le Désir is a little reticent at this very youthful stage, offering glimpses at dusty soil, iron ore, black truffles and salami notes over a core of red currant jelly, black raspberries, blackberries and star anise plus a waft of roses. Mediumbodied, very firm and very elegant yet incredibly intense in the mouth, it delivers loads of red fruit and earthy layers, finishing with great length and depth. 100 pts from Robert Parker
Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley, California 2013
$1,200.00
True to the vintage, the 2013 Shrader is inky, dark, and ultra-concentrated, offering copious amounts of cassis, briar fruit, and walnut skin characteristics. Firm tannins help to balance out the ripe fruit flavors of this particularly masculine wine
Patrimony "Caves Des Lions" Paso Robles, California 2018
$695.00
The 2018 Caves Des Lions is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc, expected to age 28 months in new French oak. It has a deep ruby-purple color and deep scents of rose petals, cured meats, tobacco leaves and cedar over a core of pure, crushed blackcurrants with loads of exotic perfume. The full-bodied palate is firm and very finely grained with full, ripe flavors and just enough freshness finishing very long and layered
