Our adult program is for men and women aged over 18.
We are a belted system and everything we teach is appropriate for the particular level you are at e.g. a white belt/beginner will not be taught an advanced technique that they are unable to perform. Our goal is always to have you succeed and be successful in your practice. We are about developing you as an individual, rather than simply giving you techniques to learn and tick-off. The system we teach is designed to allow you to find the areas in which you naturally excel e.g. some people are natural strikers (punching and kicking) others are more comfortable throwing and grappling etc. Our aim is to help you discover and develop your natural potential rather than simply fit you into a convenient box that we've designed. We will develop your physical skills (balance, co-ordination etc) and teach you how to move, block, punch, kick, throw and fall etc effectively. We will explain the dynamics of real-life violence and demonstrate the skills and techniques you learn on the mats into this context. You will also learn how to deal with assailants armed with knives, sticks and guns etc.
Whatever your current fitness level or physical ability we believe we can help you as an individual realize your goals and live your life to your full potential.
Our training is not simply about punching and kicking but about helping you get in touch with the essence of who you really are. We develop skills for life, not just for the mats or for the fight.
Programs
We offer a wide variety of programs for adults, utilizing modern techniques and elements of Israeli Reality Based Martial Arts and Self Defense which include:
Hisardut
Hisardut (it's full title being Dennis Hisardut – in recognition of its creator and founder Dr Dennis Hanover) is a martial arts system that has drawn from the best of the martial arts to create a modern and effective approach to self-defense and martial arts training. Developed in Israel it was/is designed to meet the survival needs of both civilians and military personnel. Hisardut is more than just a system of punches, kicks, blocks and martial arts movements etc. It encompasses a way of thinking and an attitude for daily living. The word Hisardut in Hebrew simply means survival and that idea/concept is at the heart of our system. Nobody ever wins a street-fight or real life violent encounter, they survive it – it is something that should be preferably avoided, and if this is not possible, then dealt with and then afterwards moved on from. This is not to underestimate the significance of having to deal with violence but to put it in its proper context. Our system places violence in its proper context, without glorifying it and teaches the mindset and attitude that allows you to deal with any obstruction and obstacle in your life and move on, so you can realize your full potential.

Ju-jitsu
Ju-Jitsu is a martial art which reflects the movements of the attacker back upon him or her. It has been practiced in Japan since the sixteenth century, although Ju-Jitsu has its origins in Chinese martial arts. Ju-Jitsu uses a series of joint locks, small weaponry, and defensive tactics in combination with conserved energy to neutralize an attacker. Many other martial arts such as Judo and Aikido have their roots in Ju-Jitsu. The word "Ju-Jitsu" means the practice of gentleness, and in addition to learning the moves associated with Ju-Jitsu, students also make changes in their characters. Ju-Jitsu is supposed to focus and calm the students, with the aim of making them better martial artists and more refined individuals as well. The movements of Ju-Jitsu are efficient, flowing, and circular, and it is a distinctly beautiful martial art to watch. Ju-Jitsu is also usually practiced within a very small circle, and many Jujitsu moves have been refined for close quarters fighting. Ju-Jitsu reached its heyday during the Tokugawa Shogunate, when weapons were forbidden to most Japanese citizens. Ju-Jitsu incorporates joint locking and arresting movements which are extremely useful in hand to hand combat where neither warrior has a weapon. When used correctly, it is also possible to disarm with a joint lock. Grappling, take downs, throws, and strangulation also play a role in Ju-Jitsu.

Karate
"Kyokushin" means "Ultimate Truth". Kyokushin Karate was born in the determination for the pursuit of ultimate truth of mind, technique, and body. Karate is developed over a thousand years ago not only as a form of unarmed combat but as a way to discipline the body in order to improve the spirit. By practicing Karate, one can increase his/her alertness, self-awareness and self-confidence by conditioning the body as improving speed, strength, and co-ordination. It is to achieve the unity of body and spirit. Kyokushin Karate has been know as "The strongest karate", not only because of the incredible feats of strength and endurance that Founder Masutatsu Oyama performed, but also because of the rigorous requirements of the training and tournaments.

Judo
Judo, which is translated as the "gentle way", teaches the principle of flexibility in the application of technique. This is the flexible or efficient use of balance, leverage, and movement in the performance of Judo throws and other skills. Skill, technique and timing, rather than the use of brute strength, are the essential ingredients for success in Judo. For example, in Judo classes you may learn how to give way, rather than use force, to overcome a stronger opponent. Kodokan Judo comes from the fighting system of feudal Japan. Founded in 1882 by Dr. Jigaro Kano. Judo is a refinement of the ancient martial art of Jujutsu. Dr. Kano, President of the University of Education, Tokyo, studied these ancient forms and integrated what he considered to be the best of their techniques into what is now the modern sport of Judo. Judo was introduced into the Olympic Games in 1964 and is practiced by millions of people throughout the world today.

Fitness
In our fit & Fight class we work on specific muscle groups, cardio fitness, and elements of cross over between martial arts and intense fitness to provide the ultimate workout program.
The program combines aspects from several popular fitness practices such as cross fit, circuit training, and cardio kickboxing. Every class is a combination of cardio, strength, core, stamina, and endurance work.
Classes are challenging yet fun and entertaining.
The atmosphere is that of personal training in a group setting – each person gets to work on their own level and personal needs, at the same time being encouraged and challenged by the group.

Children
All our teaching is age appropriate
i.e. what we teach and how we teach a 6 year old is very different to how we teach a twelve year old. What all our children's martial arts programs have in common though is the aim of developing your child's character. We view ourselves not just as a gym or stereo-typical martial arts studio but as an educational facility that your child associates with fun. By creating an environment which is fun and enjoyable to be in and teaching physical skills and techniques that your child can believe in we can also communicate a message of respect: for themselves and for others.
The traditional martial arts approach of developing a relationship between instructor and student
(often referred to as "scared space") in a mentoring fashion means that our school can reinforce the positive message(s) that your child receives both at home and at school. We don't just want to see your child improve on the mats and in their physical abilities but in all aspects and areas of their life. In a world of the "Gamebox" and "Playstation" we can help bring a level of normality and reality into a child's life.
By getting young children and teens into a habit of engaging in physical activity at an early age they are likely to carry on and continue this practice into their adult years.
Introducing this type of discipline into their lives now will pay dividends later. We believe fully in the benefits of martial arts training and practice what we preach: both our young daughters train in Hisardut and we see the positive influence it has on their lives.
