If you’ve decided that it’s time to purchase or lease your own horse, we’re here to help you
This is a service that Andrea Guzinski, Cedarhill Farm’s owner and head trainer, with the assistance of Caroline Foto, Cedarhill's assistant trainer has provided for her clients for more than 25 years. She will work hard to find the right horse or pony for you. Andrea has many sources and contacts throughout the horse community, both locally and at farms around the country
Although you can find horses or ponies for sale almost anywhere
from the Internet, local newspapers and magazines, as well as through friends and family members -- finding the one most suitable for your son or daughter is an entirely different matter. If you trust us to provide proper instruction, then please allow us to work with you on this very important decision and investment. We can locate a horse that best suits your needs and fits your budget
The price of your horse or pony will vary greatly depending on overall quality, level of experience and training, age and health
The more risks you, the buyer, are willing to take, the less expensive the animal will be. Fewer risks mean more expense. There are many factors involved in the purchase process. Our years of experience will serve you well as we team up with you. It’s our job to help you navigate the decision-making process and help you sort through every detail of your choice, including what you can and should live with (as well as what you can’t and shouldn’t)!
If you look around our barn you will find many happy horse owners and full-time leasers who are well-matched to their mounts. Let us know when you are ready to take this next step!
Alternatives
Not all horse/ponies are eligible to be included in the all-inclusive half- or full-lease programs. further advice for our Cedarhill Riders:
If you’re not quite ready for horse ownership, but you want your child to more fully explore his or her passion for horses
we suggest taking an additional lesson each week. Time in the saddle is what builds confidence and allows each student to master new skills. Session riders may schedule additional lessons at the rate of $60. each.
Another option to consider is half-leasing one of Cedarhill Farm’s schooling horses
Half-leasing entitles each student the use of their horse three days each week. We ask that one of the days be their lesson day and they may choose one other weekday as well as Sunday for their horse to be reserved for their use only! The opportunity to lesson on their own horse weekly and form a bond with that horse gives the rider a greater sense of confidence. The two additional days spent with horse and rider practicing their learned skills and simply enjoying each other’s company is a wonderful experience for our students. (And our horses enjoy it too!) Half-leasing an outside schooling horse is $475. per month + lessons. Check out the downloadable Cedarhill 2013-2014 Lease Information sheet to your right
Our summer camp is another excellent way to further expose your budding equestrian to all aspects of horsemanship
We offer camps for beginners through advanced levels of riding. Our intermediate Travel and Advanced Showmanship camps are especially designed for our more experienced students who want to practice and perfect their skills. One-week camps run for eight weeks throughout the summer months at a cost of $450. - $550. per week
We have included a lot of good information to give you a starting place in what we hope will be a wonderful journey for your family
Of course we know that you may have more specific questions regarding the needs of your individual student. Please feel free to contact us at any time at info@cedarhillfarminc.com,calling the barn office at 704.843.5944 or talking to your instructor
