In 1970, Bob and Dorothy Casper purchased the Cherokee Tavern and renamed it Caspers' Cherokee Sirloin Room. It was a small neighborhood bar and restaurant seating sixty guests. This dedication and personal involvement in offering the very best value for food and spirits continually added loyal guests.They opened the doors of their restaurant in West St. Paul to those in need and served a complete Thanksgiving Day dinner at no charge to the guests. The tradition continues to this day growing into an event in which they serve over 2500 meals with the help of many volunteers and donations from others.
