Bernard Hong and Michelle LeBrun first opened the Union Square location of Cafe Madeleine in 1999. The popular Financial District location was later added in 2002 and in 2004, relocated their bakery (formerly Jil's Patisserie) from Burlingame to the current New Montgomery address. All three Cafe Madeleine locations feature a popular lunch menu of fresh salads, sandwiches, deli-style salads, and quiche. The pastry cases are filled with their delicious line of freshly baked French pastries and cakes along with a large variety of brownies, cookies, shortbread and biscotti.
