Café Barcel’s menu is New American with Mediterranean and Latin influences. Nidia Alexander, the owner, left the corporate world to open Café Barcel in November 2009. Nidia is of Puerto Rican and Spanish descent, which inspires the name Barcel.A complete renovation of the former Change: now there are red banquettes, walnut tables and a wall of windows that open to the street. The food, by chef Kevin Reilly, formerly of The Water Club, is casual but serious.
