We're called the Brick Oven Restaurant because we use authentic Brick Ovens to prepare our critically acclaimed award winning pizza and Italian food. We are an Austin original restaurant, locally owned and operated for over 20 years.
Pizza originated in wood fired ovens in Naples, quickly became popular throughout Italy, and then rest of the world. In the late 1800's, thousands of brick ovens provided bread and baked goods across the United States. The oven's quality cooking ability is due to the dense bricks that provide consistent temperatures in large properly constructed ovens. Built from original designs, our brick ovens use cast pieces approximately 100 years old!
Our wood fired brick ovens are the largest in Texas. Each one weighs over 20,000 pounds and burns three cords of oak wood every month. The massive ovens are constantly maintained at a high temperature of nearly 700 degrees for the ideal baking environment, and are fired every day; even when we are closed. It gives our food a unique character and flavor, a difference you'll taste, and we are fired up about it!
Brick Oven Baked Pastas include a 15 Layer Lasagna, Chicken Formaggi, and Cannelloni, all individually cooked to order, bubbling with melted whole milk mozzarella cheese and served with homemade sourdough garlic bread. We also feature a full line of superb freshly made pastas, including Pasta Primavera, Chicken Chipotle Rigatoni, and Shrimp and Basil Fettuccine.
Naturally, we use only the freshest ingredients to make a wide variety of fresh sauces daily. Our sourdough crust is a blend of whole wheat, rye, durum, spring wheat and semolina. The Brick Oven Restaurant offers a wide variety of pastas, strombolis, calzones, soups, sandwiches, and much more. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and it's all brought to you by an enthusiastic wait staff.
