I have had 7 back surgeries within the last 6 years. I have been on so many medications I can't even remember all their names. Since I have been having massage therapy, I take little to no medications. I now have a very positive outlook on life and am almost pain free.
At last! Someone who cares about your pain!
As a Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of BREASE Massage & Bodywork
I desire to provide relief from pain and stress through therapeutic massage and bodywork. My office is conveniently located just off of N. Oak Trafficway in Kansas City. It is easily accessible from I-29 to the north and from the downtown area via the Heart of America Bridge
My goal is to provide relaxation and pain relief, especially for those who suffer chronic or acute pain
Ideally, acute pain is alleviated after a few sessions and clients may then come in for regular maintenance or just to relax. Massage therapy is not just a treat, but is a treatment to maintain health and prevent many painful symptoms. (Please ask me how to earn a free massage or discount!)
Having parents that have suffered from muscular pain for years, and having experienced pain myself
I choose to make massage and bodywork my ministry to others. Nothing is more satisfying than helping someone else
Experts estimate that upwards of 90% of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress. BREASE Massage & Bodywork offers the following treatment styles.
John F. Barnes - Myofascial Release
A break-through hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. The fascia (connective tissue) is a flexible system that holds everything in place and in correct tension. Restrictions in the fascia cause disruptions in the balance of the body and its ability to function properly. Fascial work addresses more than the physical being, but also deals with emotions, trauma, depression, and many other aspects of the complete human being. "Without awareness, there is no choice." - John. F. Barnes
Consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. This method is good for working on specific problem areas of muscle spasms and cramps.
Swedish Massage Therapy
A full-body massage using long, slow strokes. Using lotion or cream for a smooth glide, this type of massage is ideal for relaxation and stress relief.
Pregnancy (Pre-Natal) Massage
Specially designed for the pregnant woman, this massage uses pillows and cushions to provide support and comfort in a side-lying position. The recommendation for Pregnancy Massage is usually for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.
Typically, a basic Swedish Massage that often includes positioning the client on his/her side part of the session with pillows to support arms and legs. This allows clients that are unable to lie on their stomachs to still have the posterior (back) side of the body massaged.
Using a massage chair designed to provide optimum support, this massage is done with the client fully-clothed. Chair massage targets the head, neck, shoulders, back, and arms.
Women's Health Myofascial Release

Common symptoms treated include: Pelvic floor pain & dysfunction; Urinary incontinence, urgency or frequency; Problematic breast implant/reduction scars; Endometriosis; Fibromyalgia; Menstrual problems; Coccygeal pain; Infertility problems.

We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, we honor the following policies.
24-hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice, you will be charged the full amount of your appointment unless you are ill or have an unexpected crisis. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
Anyone who forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment will be considered a "no-show." They will be charged for their "missed" appointment.
Arriving late may shorten your session in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the "full" session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time. (Being on time means arriving before your scheduled time so that the massage can start at the appointed time.)
