The Branding Iron has been in existence since 1952, and has been the subject of two articles by Sunset Magazine. It is known for its fresh fish, lamb, chicken, and beef entrees, particularly its savory prime rib. The Gazpacho, a cold Spanish soup, is made fresh daily, and is very popular. Their toasted Parmesan Bread, using sourdough rolls from a Basque Bakery in nearby Fresno, is also a specialty of the house.
