In early 2002, Ed and Tammie Chism bought the corner lot on 5th Street and 30th Avenue, close to downtown Northport, to build a warehouse and office for their business, Crown Limousine. On the corner of the property was an old building made of blocks, and painted an ugly yellow. After turning down several offers to rent the building, Ed and Tammie realized that the property was a prime location for a small locally owned restaurant.Their unique concept, not previously available in the area, was to offer smoked wings, pork, ribs and southern fried catfish. Their dream became a reality as Pigs, Chickens & Bottom feeders opened to the public on September 3, 2003. Many changes and improvements have been made as the restaurant has evolved through the customers needs and wants. Shrimp, oysters, craw fish and crab claws now complete out the bottom feeders portion of the menu.
