Opening the Pathway of the Nadis
In the history of yoga practice, directing the life force in the body (prana) was compared to the way farmers damed, collected and irrigated water for their fields. Thus prana is thought to move like rivulets, streams and tributaries (called nadis) through the tissues of the body. In this class we practice yoga posture and somatic movements to open the channels of the body, some of which are extremely delicate and subtle. By alternately extending and contracting the body's connective tissues, we pump fluids through the circulatory system and irrigate blood and lymph into all the cells of the body. This class is designed to sense and feel the movement of the life force throughout the subtle body.

Julianna Takacs, Vinyasa Intermediate
Julianna Takacs has been a student and teacher of yoga & meditation for over 15 years. All of Julianna's classes are breath centered with a focus on maintaining steady breathing from start to finish. Her intermediate classes are challenging with thoughtful sequencing, carefully articulated guidance, and physical support when needed. In 2011 she founded and directed the Yoga Hoedown, a multi-day yoga and music festival in Upstate NY that hosted 150 people every Labor Day weekend through 2016. While in New York, Julianna also served as faculty at Long Island University for their accredited course in Yoga for Wellness and was featured in Time Out NY several years in a row as one of NYC's top yoga classes. Julianna continues to teach classes, trainings, workshops and retreats locally and internationally.
Abby Dobbs, Candlelit Vinyasa
As a long-time yoga practitioner, bodyworker, and energyworker, Abby has a uniquely holistic view of physical anatomy, energetics, and movement that she weaves into her classes, workshops, and ceremonies. Abby was dragged along to her first yoga class at the age of 15 by her mother, and she completed her first 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Forrest Yoga in 2008. Inspired deeply by the practice of yoga, Abby has taken additional trainings with Yogaworks, Rocket, Forrest, Yoga Bodywork, Yin, and multiple bodywork trainings. Abby moved to Santa Fe from Washington DC, where she owned and managed Kali Yoga Studio, before selling it in 2018 to a dear friend and colleague. Abby wrote and teaches her own Yoga Teacher Training, and runs Advanced Trainings for yoga teachers and bodyworkers, and is a Guest Instructor for other 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. Abby's classes combine mindful, challenging movement with intentional breathing and focused attention to create a full body-heart-mind experience. Abby encourages all of her students to take ownership of their individual practice by giving students the tools to determine what is most aligned for their individual needs. Off the mat, Abby loves to read fantasy novels, cook and bake vegan food, and snuggle her two fabulous cats – Kitty Boo & Billy.
Surya Little, Prajna Yoga
Surya is co-founder of Prajna Yoga with her husband, Tias Little. She specializes in women's health, nutrition and therapeutic yoga. She consults with students to improve their health and overall wellbeing.
Amy Sayers, Classical Pilates
Amy Sayers is passionate about health, wellness and movement potential. She has been teaching Pilates since 2001 and holds certifications form Core Dynamics, PilateZone and the PMA. Amy trained at The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO in 2009 and received her TPC Diploma in 2010 and has specialized in teaching the Classical Method based on this training. She has spent many years trying to understand movement patterning and how it affects whole body health. The Classical Method affords a way of recognizing the tension, misalignment and musculo-skeletal sequences that make a person's movement less effective. Instead of just teaching exercises, she uses the system of Contrology to heal; health resides in natural movement.
Daniel Craig, Yin Yoga

Winter Solstice Ceremony with Abby Dobbs & Stephen Kohn
When: Saturday, December 21st [5-7:30pm]. Join Abby and Stephen in ceremony to celebrate the Winter Solstice, the first day of winter, and the longest night of the year. Every time we connect to the rhythms of nature and the celestial and earthly energies around us, we become more in alignment with our true sacred nature. The Winter Solstice is the day of the year with the most darkness, and is caused by the tilt of the earth in relation to the sun. On the longest night of the year, also called Midwinter or Yule, we are honoring the return of the sun. This day marks the time of year when days begin to get longer again, and we are blessed with more hours of sunlight. In this ceremony, we'll celebrate rebirth and renewal, and reflect upon the darker days since the Autumnal Equinox. Our circle will open with calling in the Four Directions, followed by a guided meditation, an oracle deck pull to give clarity of intention for the newly sun-filled days, and journaling. We'll discuss the current astrological placements, and how they may impact us in throughout winter. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a journal and pen, and anything sacred or special to you to add to our communal altar. Call for more information | 505-986-0362.
