Warm-Up (Core Strengthening Exercises)
Most people may know about the benefits of stretching before exercise, but not the benefits of warming up before stretching. Our warm up tends to focus on the lower abdomen.
Tao Yin Meridian Exercises
In our classes, stretching is designed to stimulate the body's energy pathways, called meridians. You don't need to memorize names or postures, just relax into the deep stretching, twisting, and joint rotation exercises.
Core Energy Breathing
Deep breathing is essential to yoga of many styles. Our breathing exercises stimulate the body's energy system by developing core strength.
Energy Meditation
Whether moving or sitting still, our energy meditation will help you learn to relax and shift your focus away from busy thoughts.
Cool Down (Energy Refreshing Exercises)
End each class with simple, revitalizing exercises to promote energy flow.
Tea Time
One more area where our Korean heritage shines through. Traditionally, drinking tea can be an act of personal contemplation or quiet association. Our Tea Time allows practitioners to share their impressions of class or ask the instructors questions.
Tai Chi & Qigong
Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a graceful Asian martial art known for healing benefits including balance, core strengthening, stress relief, improved circulation and cognition. "Chi" in Tai Chi means "life energy," also referred to as "qi" or "ki." While there are many styles of Tai Chi, we teach what is similar to the International style. The concept of Tai Chi appears in Taoist philosophy, where it represents the fusion of Yin and Yangtwo aspects of one unity or holism. Through Tai Chi, one can create natural balance within oneself and with nature. Dahn Yoga teaches basic Tai Chi through DahnMuDo.
Qigong
Qigong is an ancient Asian system that integrates physical posture, mindful breathing and focus. It helps to balance "qi" (chi) or life energy through gentle and rhythmic movements, meditation and breathing techniques. Physical benefits include improved body functions such as digestive and cardiovascular, increased vitality and stamina, and enhances the immune system. Qigong also calms the mind and helps to balance body, mind and spirit.
DahnMuDo
DahnMuDo is a non-combative healing martial art known as the "Art of Being Limitless." With its roots in ancient Korean healing, the practice is based on energy flow, training the body and mind to develop and use energy. The word "Dahn" literally means "energy," "Mu" means "limitless" and "Do" (Tao) means "the Way." DahnMuDo is gentle enough to be practiced by anyone, and yields tremendous health benefits. Physically it helps to realign the pelvis and shoulders horizontally while vertically aligning the spine. This is the foundation of a healthy body. Increased energy benefits internal organs and muscles, and strengthens one's natural healing abilities and immune system.

Sedona Retreat for Change
